YB Wilfred Yap recently met with representatives from various local associations and village committees (JKKK) to hand over Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants to support their upcoming activities, welfare programs, and community initiatives.
These grants are part of an ongoing commitment to ensure that local organizations have the resources they need to serve the people effectively and foster a stronger, more united community.
Here is the breakdown of the financial allocations presented:

Phase One Flood Mitigation Project at the Stampin Resettlement Scheme
第一阶段防洪工程的官方简报会并视察巡视工地区

Earlier today, Kota Sentosa Assemblyman YB Wilfred Yap joined Sarawak Deputy Premier YB Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Sarawak, and local residents for the official briefing and site inspection of the Phase One Flood Mitigation Project at the Stampin Resettlement Scheme.

This massive RM87.96 million state-funded infrastructure project is a historic milestone for the area. Spanning over a 30-month construction period (14 September 2026 to 13 March 2029), this initiative is set to resolve a 50-year flash flood issue, directly protecting over 9,000 residents and 1,000 households! 🏗️✨

What Phase 1 will deliver:
🔹 Widening and upgrading of roadside drains along Jalan Stampin Baru.
🔹 Upgrading culverts and opening reserve drains straight to the Sarawak River.
🔹 Deepening and clearing critical outlets flowing toward Sungai Stampin, Sungai Stutong, and Sungai Kuap.

YB Wilfred Yap emphasized that this is a systematic, long-term development planned strictly for the welfare of the people. Because construction takes place right inside our residential zones and navigates complex underground utility lines, we kindly ask for the community's patience and cooperation throughout this period. 🤝

今天早些时候，哥打圣淘沙区州议员 叶耀星 YB Wilfred Yap 联同砂拉越副总理 拿督阿玛沈桂贤医生 YB Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian、砂拉越水利灌溉局（DID）官员以及当地居民，一同前往斯淡宾安置区（Stampin Resettlement Scheme），出席第一阶段防洪工程的官方简报会并视察巡视工地区。

这项耗资 8796万令吉 并由砂拉越政府全额资助的巨型基础设施项目，是该地区历史性的重要里程碑。整个工程步入实施阶段，施工期长达30个月（2026年9月14日至2029年3月13日）。此举旨在彻底解决困扰当地居民长达50年的闪汛水患问题，直接惠及超过 9000名居民及1000个住户！🏗️✨
第一阶段工程的核心内容包括：
🔹 拓宽并升级新斯淡宾路（Jalan Stampin Baru）沿路的住宅区路边水渠。
🔹 提升现有暗渠，并开辟直通砂拉越河的疏洪保留水沟。
🔹 疏浚、拓宽并清理流向斯淡宾河（Sungai Stampin）、实都东河（Sungai Stutong）及瓜布河（Sungai Kuap）的关键排水出水口。
叶耀星议员强调，这是一项完全为了人民福祉而精心规划的系统化长期发展项目。由于施工范围完全位于成熟的住宅区内，且涉及错综复杂的地下公用事业管线，施工期间难免会带来些许不便。我们恳请当地居民给予高度的耐心、理解与配合。🤝

PETRA JAYA, 21 Oktober: Cadangan menghentikan projek Transit Aliran Automasi (ART), Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuching baharu dan Pelabuhan Laut Dalam Kuching disifatkan sebagai ‘politik gostan’ dan berpandangan singkat oleh Premier Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

"109. In line with our efforts to enhance Kuching as a city of international stature, public facilities must continue to be upgraded befitting a modern, liveable and sustainable city.

110. But it is disheartening to note there is a call for the ART, the new Kuching international airport and Kuching deep-sea port projects to be halted.

111. Therefore, I agree with member for Kota Sentosa that any cancellation of these projects is “gostan politics” and shortsighted. Let me reassure this august House that the GPS government under my leadership will continue to forge ahead with their implementations towards 2030."
