From Daweb!gaos to the Amazon

In the heart of the Amazon in Ecuador, the NTLA Youth Forum presented a powerful reflection on what drives Indigenous activism: love for our people. The love that connected us to the land, animals and plants, robbed and now lost of that connection, and with it, that love for one another. Yet now, we burn with a desire to return to that love, to protect our land, carry our histories, defend our rights, and continue the work our ancestors began.

From the Nama lands of Daweb!gaos to the territories of Indigenous Peoples in the Amazon, our struggles may take different forms, but the love that moves us is deeply connected. For our people who still remember the healing that the land and plants provided, deserve to return to that land and benefit from it in this lifetime.

Congratulations Evesty.

The NTLA Youth Forum proudly congratulates Evesty Afrikaner of the Kai ǁKhaun on being awarded a Cultural Survival Indigenous Youth Fellowship.

Through this fellowship, Evesty has officially launched Roots and Rights: The Clan Tour, phase one, an initiative of the NTLA Youth Forum that will engage Nama clans across the country in meaningful dialogue on Indigenous governance, ancestral lands, genocide reparations, and youth leadership.

We congratulate Evesty on this well-deserved achievement and look forward to the impact that Roots and Rights will have in advancing Indigenous rights, unity, and youth leadership across the Nama Nation.

ROOTS AND RIGHTS: THE CLAN TOUR - PHASE ONE IS HERE!

The NTLA Youth Forum is proud to announce the first phase of a historic journey that will be held across the 13 Nama Clans - a youth-led tour to inform, engage and plan with clans on our roots and rights.

From ancestral lands and its continued exploitation for tourism and extractive industry to the fight for restorative justice, the voices of the youth will be heard.
