Dear Residents of the ||Kharas Region,

June is a special month dedicated to celebrating and appreciating the invaluable role that men play in our families, communities, workplaces, and society at large.

It is a time to recognize the positive contributions of fathers, husbands, sons, brothers, mentors, and community leaders who continue to shape and strengthen our nation.

As Governor of the ||Kharas Region, I am pleased to invite all residents to participate in two significant events that will be held during this important month of celebrating men and promoting family and community wellbeing.

1. Prayer Day: Friday, 12 June 2026
Under the theme:
“Strong Families, Safe Communities, Hopeful Futures: United Against Gender-Based Violence”

we will gather in prayer and reflection, seeking God's guidance and intervention as we work together to build safer homes, stronger families, and communities free from violence and abuse.

This day will serve as a platform to reaffirm our collective responsibility in promoting peace, respect, unity, and human dignity.

2. Men's Dialogue in Commemoration of Father's Day: Friday, 19 June 2026

In anticipation of Father's Day, which will be observed on Sunday, 21 June 2026, we will host a special Men's Dialogue under the theme:
“Keetmanshoop Men of Purpose: Strengthening Families, Restoring Values, Building Our Future”

This important dialogue will bring men together to engage in meaningful discussions on responsible fatherhood, leadership, mentorship, family values, character building, and the role of men in shaping a prosperous future for our communities.

It is an opportunity to inspire and empower men to become agents of positive change and pillars of strength within their families and society.

I therefore encourage all men, community leaders, faith-based organizations, youth representatives, fathers, and residents across the ||Kharas Region to join us as we celebrate manhood with purpose, responsibility, integrity, and commitment to nation-building.

Together, let us honour the men who continue to make a positive difference and inspire future generations through their leadership, sacrifice, and service.

📢 KEETMANSHOOP MEN'S DIALOGUE 2026, ORGANISING COMMITTEE KICKS OFF PREPARATIONS

Today, the Organising Committee for the Keetmanshoop Men's Dialogue 2026 held its first planning meeting at the Office of the Governor, ǁKharas Region.

The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming dialogue, which will be held in commemoration of Father's Day under the theme:

"Keetmanshoop Men of Purpose: Strengthening Families, Restoring Values, Building Our Future."

Committee members discussed key aspects of the event, including stakeholder engagement, programme development, logistics, resource mobilisation, and the allocation of responsibilities to ensure a successful and impactful dialogue.

The Men's Dialogue aims to provide a platform for meaningful discussions on responsible fatherhood, positive masculinity, family wellbeing, mentorship, mental health, economic empowerment, and the role of men in building safer and stronger communities.

We extend our appreciation to all committee members and stakeholders who have committed their time and expertise to this important initiative.

The Office of the Governor, ||Kharas Region, through the Governor’s Youth Desk, invites all young people, community members, entrepreneurs, youth-led organisations, and stakeholders to attend an Information Session on Grants and Funding Opportunities.

This session aims to equip participants with valuable information on available funding opportunities, eligibility requirements, application processes, and support mechanisms available for youth entrepreneurship, innovation, and community development initiatives.

❄️ WINTER DRIVE FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE ❄️

The Office of the Governor through the Governor’s Youth Desk calls upon all residents of the ||Kharas Region and the nation at large to join us in making a difference this winter season.

Many vulnerable individuals and families are facing the harsh winter months without adequate clothing, blankets, food, or basic necessities. Together, we can bring warmth, comfort, and hope to those who need it most.

We kindly appeal for donations of:

Fellow Residents of the ||Kharas Region

It is with great honour and humility that I invite all Pastors, Apostles, Bishops, Evangelists, Prophets, Intercessors, Prayer Warriors, Worship Leaders, Church Elders, Youth Leaders, and Members of the Christian community to join us for the ||Kharas Regional Prayer Day 2026.

As a nation, we are faced with many social challenges that require not only practical action but also spiritual intervention.

This Prayer Day will provide an opportunity for us to Unite in Faith, seek God's guidance, and Pray for Healing, Restoration, Peace, and Transformation within our families, communities, and our beloved nation.

Under the theme:
“Strong Families, Safe Communities, Hopeful Futures: United Against Gender-Based Violence”
we will gather as One people to pray for the protection of our children, the strengthening of families, the safety of our communities, and an end to violence and injustice.

I encourage Churches, Ministries, Prayer groups, and individuals from across the region and beyond to participate in this important gathering.

Together, let us stand in unity before God and seek His wisdom, favour, and blessing upon Namibia.

As Scripture reminds us:

To our learners, I encourage you to return to school with renewed determination, discipline, and focus. Education remains one of the most powerful tools that can shape your future and unlock countless opportunities. Make this term one of excellence, commitment, and personal growth. Remember, greatness is built through hard work, consistency, and perseverance.
