Strategic Partnerships for Sustainable Development

On 01 May 2026, during the vibrant Lüderitz Crayfish Festival, the Okongo Village Council delegation undertook a strategic courtesy visit to Mr. Fluksman Samuehl, Chief Executive Officer of the Lüderitz Waterfront Development Company.

The engagement focused on drawing valuable insights from the remarkable transformation of the Lüderitz Waterfront under his leadership, with the aim of fostering a strong mentorship relationship. This collaboration comes at a critical time as Okongo positions itself for the development of the Omaludi Centre.

The Council has recently secured 19.74 hectares of land dedicated to the construction of this permanent facility, which will serve as the official home of the annual Omaludi Agricultural Festival.
