The Mayor of Otjiwarongo, His Worship Gotlieb Shivute, is among the distinguished guests set to participate in the 10th Anniversary of the Leaders Without Borders International Economic Development & Investment Summit and International Honors, taking place from October 24 to 25, 2025, at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek.
The high-level summit, held under the theme “Eliminating Intra-African Trade Barriers – Strengthening Policy Reforms and Strategic Ex*****on Models for Africa’s Economic Growth,” aims to foster dialogue and collaboration on boosting trade and investment across the African continent.
Organized by the Leaders Without Borders Development Centre (LWBDC), the event serves as a platform for policymakers, business leaders, and investors to explore strategies that promote sustainable development through cross-border trade, innovation, and partnerships.
According to the LWBDC, its model serves as a “blueprint for developing programs and initiatives that advance comprehensive pathways toward sustainable development and economic growth via trade and investment opportunities.” The Centre emphasizes the importance of global collaboration to strengthen Africa’s economic resilience and competitiveness.
“Our drive is global investment opportunities and development for stakeholders across borders,” the LWBDC stated. “Our investment forums are a vehicle driving the agenda of global partnerships, trade, and investment promotion.”
This year’s summit will feature a series of engaging discussions centered on partnerships, investment strategies, and innovations across key sectors, including economic development, international trade, financial technology (FinTech), property technology (PropTech), information technology (InfoTech), financial markets, infrastructure development, agribusiness, mining, and renewable energy.
The event will also provide participants including heads of organizations, government officials, and private sector executives with access to high-level networking opportunities, business-to-business (B2B) meetings, global brand exposure, and potential high-return investment prospects.
A major highlight of the summit will be the unveiling of the “Top 50 Emerging Businesses in Africa,” a prestigious recognition of innovative enterprises shaping the future of the continent’s economy.
Mayor Shivute’s participation underscores Otjiwarongo’s growing commitment to aligning with continental and global development agendas that encourage trade, innovation, and sustainable growth, to Otjiwarongo as a town.
