Mondesa is formally known as the black township of Swakopmund in Namibia. 70% of the residence of Swakopmund resite in Mondesa. Mondesa as a colourful history of movers and shakers; ordinary people that made Mondesa for what it is today. Through this page we aim to bring back the pride and celebrate the rich history of the old lokasie and Mondesa from 50s till present day through arts and documenting that history. We are in the process of research and documentation. Involving young people in that process is very important for the younger generation to appreciate the history of the township.
