CRAN was honoured to welcome 29 Student Officers from the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) Signal Officers Course to our offices today.

The visit provided the officers with valuable insight into the role of the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) in regulating and managing the country’s communications sector, particularly in the areas of radio frequency spectrum management, telecommunications, broadcasting, postal services and technical standards.

The engagement also provided an opportunity to discuss the critical role that communications technologies—including Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) systems, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), radio communications and other modern connectivity solutions—play in supporting national security, defence operations and digital transformation.

CRAN is proud to contribute to the development of Namibia’s future defence communications leaders by fostering a greater understanding of the regulatory environment and the importance of efficient, secure and interference-free communications.

We thank the Namibian Defence Force for the visit and look forward to continued collaboration in advancing a resilient and connected Namibia.

CRAN visited the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority NAMFISA for a valuable benchmark session between our communications teams.

As fellow regulators, we share a common challenge: taking complex, technical information and translating it into messages that every Namibian can easily understand.

For NAMFISA, this means simplifying financial information through consumer education. For CRAN, it means breaking down technical communications content in the same accessible way. The session allowed both teams to share best practices and explore exciting areas of collaboration.
