On 13th April 2021, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda to south Africa also accredited to Namibia led a Mission Team of technical officers to meet with and offer Consular Services to the Ugandan Diaspora in Namibia. The High Commissioner and her team were welcomed to Windhoek, Namibia by Prince, Joseph Ndawula the Honorary Consul of Uganda to Namibia.
The Mission Team spent 4 days in Namibia capturing data for issuance of National Identity Cards as well receiving applications for Ugandans who wished to renew, replace the lost, damaged or acquire new passports for their children.
On the last day, April 16, 2021, the High Commissioner together with the Mission Team, met and addressed a congregation of Ugandans at AVANI Hotel in the Namibian capital. The occasion was attended attended a good number of Ugandans living and working in Namibia both from the formal and informal sectors.

On the same occasion, the Chairman (Dr. David N Mondo) greatly appreciated the High Commissioner’s thoughtful decision of bringing services near to the people by carrying her technical staff Namibia to offer services to Ugandans living here.
REMARKS BY UGANDA'S HONORARY CONSUL TO NAMIBIA
The Consul, Prince Joseph Ndawula officially welcomed the High Commissioner and the Mission Team to Namibia and thanked them for the noble work done so far since they came to Namibia. He further congratulated Ugandans who participated in the just concluded National ID registration exercise.
REMARKS BY HEAD OF DIASPORA
The Head of Diaspora Ms. Sarah Nakamya appealed to the Ugandans present not to forget their beloved home – Uganda. She passionately begged them to always invest at home. She took them through some of the incentives offered to Diaspora Ugandans who invest back home.
REMARKS BY MINISTER CONUSELOR
The Minister Counsellor also Head of Consular Services Mr. Julius Kivuna updated the audience on the process of passport renewal, emphasising the need to have all the required documents when one is applying to renew or get a new passport. He also explained about what is required when applying for a certificate of Identity (Go Home). He also took them through the importance of having a National ID, pointing out that without one, it is next to impossible to operate back home.
REMARKS BY THE HIGH COMMISSIONER
The High Commissioner, H.E Barbra Oundo Nekesa thanked the Ugandans for being good visitors;
She took the opportunity to thank the leadership of the Ugandan community in Namibia for the work they do. She urged Ugandans to remain good “Ambassadors” wherever they stay and to SOP's set by the Namibian government to suppress the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Ambassador also advised Ugandans not to forget their families back. She argued them to always remit financial assistance to their families back home which in return contributes to the socio-economic development of our country, Uganda.
In conclusion, the Ambassador briefed Ugandans on the just concluded 2021 General elections conducted on the 14th of January in Uganda and also gave an update on the current situation at home emphasizing that, Uganda is safe and ready for investment.
