MFMR host a candlelight vigil to honor our first President, the founding father of our nation, and a pivotal leader in the Namibian liberation struggle, His Excellency Dr Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma.

Staff members from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources across the country participated in this solemn occasion, observing a moment of silence to pay tribute to the legacy of our late founding president.

During the ceremony held in Windhoek, Executive Director Annely Haiphene spoke with deep respect for the founding president, acknowledging his monumental contributions to the peace and stability that our nation enjoys today. She underscored the importance for all Namibians to reflect on our history as a means of appreciating our present and guiding our future.

May the life and legacy of our Founding President, Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, continue to inspire future generations.
