REHOBOTH EAST COMMUNITY WELCOMES LONG-OVERDUE ENGAGEMENT - Community members in Rehoboth East Constituency have expressed their appreciation to the Deputy Minister for taking the time to engage directly with them, describing the engagement as long overdue, particularly due to outstanding questions and concerns regarding the Ministry’s operations, services and requirements.

The sentiments were shared today, 16 August 2026, during a community engagement held at Oanab Hall, marking the conclusion of the Deputy Minister’s familiarisation visit and community engagements in the Hardap Region.

The engagement brought community members together with the Deputy Minister and his delegation, comprising officials from Civil Registration, Immigration, the Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL) and the Namibia Correctional Service (NCS). SPEAK UP ON THE RIGHT PLATFORMS, WHERE SOLUTIONS CAN BE FOUND
REHOBOTH WEST CONSTITUENCY —

Hon. Deputy Minister Edward Alfred Wambo has called on residents of the Rehoboth West Constituency to engage directly with their leaders and relevant authorities when raising concerns affecting their communities, rather than relying solely on social media.

Speaking during a community engagement yesterday in Rehoboth, Hon. Wambo emphasised that posting concerns on social media does not necessarily lead to solutions. He encouraged residents to make use of established communication channels, engage in constructive dialogue and approach their leaders and relevant authorities directly.
The Deputy Minister noted that direct engagement creates a better opportunity for concerns to be properly understood, addressed and followed through, ultimately contributing to meaningful and sustainable solutions for communities.
“Speak up on the right platforms, where solutions can be found.

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY ACCOUNTABILITY: Community members in Gochas and Hoachanas have been encouraged to use suggestion boxes at government institutions to share their concerns, experiences and recommendations on public service delivery. The Ministry’s Deputy Minister Hon. Edward Alfred Wambo made the call today during his ongoing community engagements in the Hardap Region, emphasising that community feedback is essential to strengthening accountability and improving government services.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted the Ministry’s introduction of compulsory name tags for officials, making them easily identifiable and enabling members of the public to report instances of poor or unprofessional service.

Hon. Wambo also urged communities to speak up, provide feedback and use available mechanisms to hold service providers accountable.
