Governor Nwifuru Encourages Education Through Massive Employment.

The employment of over 8,000 workers in Ebonyi State Civil Service by the Executive Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has been described as a motivational factor in educational development and encouraging academic excellence.
Ebonyi State commissioner for Works, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam stated this during the flag off of the 3 day orientation program for the newly employed staff of the ministry. He pointed out that while in some parts of the country, many are losing interest on education and opting for money making venture, Ebonyi State Government through the Governor is committed to promoting education.
In his words, the commissioner maintained that "Our Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has shown capacity in all aspects of his leadership. If you go to many other places in the country today, you will notice that people are no longer interested in acquiring school certificates because it is not adding to their earnings anymore but here, the Governor is adding value to education because his appointments and employments are based on merit"
Engr. Mbam enjoined the workers especially the newly employed to reciprocate the Governor's gestures by showing adequate commitment to their statutory responsibilities and take their duties seriously. He warned them against truancy and any other attitude that can sabotage the Governor's good intentions in employing them noting that the 3 day orientation tagged"Bequeathing Experience For Excellent Service Delivery" was packaged to give necessary guide to the workers in the scheme of Civil Service. He therefore urged them to put all that they will be taught into practice and eschew any action that will be capable of throwing them out of the system.
Lending his voice, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Chief Monday Nkwuda, advised the workers to put in all their best as they grow in the service since their future and the future of their children and wards depend on the proceeds of the work. He further eulogized Governor Nwifuru for employing over 40 personnel in Ministry of Works alone and promised to ensure adequate workers welfare and wished them success in all their service years.
The event witnessed a well packaged trainings in all aspects of Civil Service rules by qualified resource persons including Directors and Heads of Departments who taught the workers in the areas of Rules of Engagements in Civil Service, Personnel Organogrames, Financial Regulations and others.
In a vappreciated management of Ministry of Works for organizing such a motivational event for them and also thanked the State Governor for giving them the opportunity to serve the State.
