MAINTAIN STANDARD: COMMISSIONER TELLS CONTRACTORS.
Ebonyi State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam has charged contractors handling Government projects to maintain the standard specification and avoid cutting corners that can adversely affect government intention for the people.
The commissioner during the routine inspection said that he observed with dismay an attempt by some site workers to use low gauge in their mixing materials which could lead to total failure of the road if not unchecked. He warned that government will not condone any such act and any contractor found culpable will not only be relieved of the contract but will be made to face full weight of the law.
Commissioner Mbam directed engineers of the ministry to ensure adequate monitoring and report progress accordingly. He commended the quality of work going on at the 17.5km Ezzagu-Isu road.
The projects site visited include; Egu Echara unuhu, VANCO flyover and tunnel projects, Ezzagu-Isu road and others.
