*IKEJI EHUGBO 2026 MESSAGE FROM CHIEF AGWU AMAH AGWU — TRIPLE A*
_NDC House of Representatives Candidate, Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency_

*My Beloved Ndi Ehugbo,*
_Umu nne, Unu Jookwa Ezi Ndi Eze ndi Ehugbo_

On this glorious occasion of *Ikeji Ehugbo New Yam Festival 2026*, I bring you greetings of peace, unity, and thanksgiving.

Ikeji is more than a festival. It is our thanksgiving to *Chukwu Okike Abiama* for bountiful harvest. It is a celebration of our culture, our strength, and our identity as a people. It is a time we honor our ancestors, bless our land, and rededicate ourselves to the progress of Ehugbo.

As your son and as the *NDC House of Representatives Candidate for Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency*, I stand with you today in joy and in purpose.

*TO NDI EHUGBO, THIS IS MY MESSAGE:*
*1. OUR CULTURE IS OUR POWER*
The yam is the king of crops. Ikeji reminds us that hard work, patience, and faith always produce results. Just as we nurture the yam from planting to harvest, we must nurture our community with unity, integrity, and service.

*2. OUR WOMEN AND YOUTHS ARE THE FUTURE*
Ehugbo women are the custodians of our values. Ehugbo youths are the engine of our tomorrow. Under my representation, we will prioritize *women empowerment, youth skills, education, and job opportunities* so that no Ehugbo child is left behind.

*3. INFRASTRUCTURE AND WELFARE MUST FOLLOW OUR REVENUE*
The increased resources coming to our state and LGAs must translate to *good roads, functional health centers, water, markets, and security* in every Ehugbo community. I will ensure Afikpo/Edda gets its fair share and that projects are felt at the grassroots.

*4. INCLUSIVE AND PURPOSEFUL LEADERSHIP*
My aspiration is rooted in *service, accountability, and inclusive representation*. I do not seek office for title. I seek office to serve you — the farmer, the trader, the teacher, the student, the widow, and the elder.

As we eat the new yam today, let us also sow new seeds of unity. Let politics divide us no more. Let us rise as one Ehugbo, one Afikpo, one Edda, and one people with one destiny.

To honor this celebration, I am extending *support to Ikeji Ehugbo Central Planning Committee and to women and youth groups* across Ehugbo, as a token of solidarity and love.

*Ndi Ehugbo, may this new yam season bring peace to our homes, progress to our land, and prosperity to our people.*

_May the gods of our land continue to bless Ehugbo. May our unity be unbreakable. May our future be greater than our past._

*Iseeee!!!*

*Service to the People. Leadership with Purpose.*

*FROM NEGLECT TO PROGRESS: A PEOPLE-FIRST AGENDA FOR AFIKPO/EDDA*

My people of Afikpo and Edda,

I speak to you not just as a candidate but as your brother — one who feels your struggles and shares your hopes. Anything that affects you affects me. Anything that troubles you troubles me.

For too long, our constituency has carried burdens that should have been resolved through responsible leadership. From the absence of stable electricity to the lack of jobs for our youths, from limited infrastructure to slow economic growth — these challenges are real, and they demand urgent, structured solutions.

As Chief Agwu Amah Agwu, I have made personal efforts to address some of these issues. I have supported farmers, empowered small businesses, and contributed to community welfare. But the reality is clear: there are limits to what one individual can achieve without the full backing of government authority and legislative power.

*A BROADER VISION FOR DEVELOPMENT*

My mission is not limited to one issue — it is about transforming Afikpo/Edda through a comprehensive development agenda that touches every sector:

*Electricity and Infrastructure:* Ensuring stable power supply and improved basic infrastructure to support businesses and daily living.

*Economic Empowerment:* Creating opportunities for our youths through enterprise support, job creation initiatives, and access to funding.

*Agriculture and Local Production:* Strengthening our farming systems and turning agriculture into a sustainable source of income.

*Education and Healthcare:* Expanding access to quality education and improving healthcare delivery across our communities.

These are not isolated goals — they are interconnected pillars of real development.

*FROM INDIVIDUAL EFFORT TO INSTITUTIONAL IMPACT*

There are things I have tried to achieve with personal resources, and there are things that require government structure, policy influence, and legislative backing.

With the platform of representation, we can:

Attract federal projects and investments.

Influence policies that directly benefit our people.

Ensure fair allocation of resources to our constituency.

This is how we move from limited impact to sustainable, large-scale progress.

*ENDING THE CYCLE OF COMPLAINTS*

We are tired — tired of saying:

There is no electricity.

There are no jobs.

Nothing is working.

These are not just complaints; they are indicators of systemic gaps that must be addressed with seriousness and accountability.

The era of recycled leadership and repeated outcomes must give way to intentional, results-driven governance.

*A COLLECTIVE JOURNEY*

But let me be clear — this is not a one-man mission.

This is our problem.
This is our responsibility.
This is our future.

Real change happens when leadership and the people work together with a shared purpose.

*A COMMITMENT TO ACTION AND RESULTS*

I stand before you with a clear commitment:

To pursue policies that directly improve lives.

To ensure that governance is visible and impactful in every community.

To represent Afikpo/Edda with integrity, competence, and urgency.

Afikpo/Edda deserves better — and together, we can achieve it.

The time has come to move from neglect to progress, from struggle to opportunity, and from promises to performance.

*BEYOND PERSONALITY — A VOTE FOR CHARACTER, COMPETENCE AND SERVICE*

By Harmony Nnachi

We must stop treating politics as though it is a competition between personalities.
It should be a contest of *character, competence, compassion, and capacity.*

For decades, we have entrusted power to different political actors. Some had every opportunity to transform our communities, yet left behind little that truly changed the lives of ordinary people. Too often, public office has been viewed as a reward for political loyalty, rather than a platform for public service.

Today, many people still defend politicians simply because of party affiliation, family ties, or personal interests.
But the ordinary man and woman in the village is not asking which party wins.
He is asking for better roads, quality education, functional healthcare, job opportunities, and a representative who will remember the people after the election.

*That is why this moment is different.*

Before seeking your votes, *Chief Agwu Amah Agwu* had already invested in people.
He has supported students through scholarships, assisted families in difficult times, and extended help to the vulnerable — all without occupying public office or spending taxpayers’ money.

Imagine what such a leader can accomplish with the constitutional mandate and resources of the House of Representatives.

Democracy is not about recycling power among a privileged few.
Neither is it about preserving political dynasties.
Democracy is about giving every capable leader an equal opportunity to serve, and allowing the people — not political structures — to decide their future.

*This election is bigger than any individual.*
It is about restoring hope to the forgotten, creating opportunities for the next generation, and electing a representative whose legacy will be measured by impact, not excuses.

The people have become more politically conscious. They are no longer impressed by slogans alone.
They want *evidence, empathy, and effective representation.*

When a man has consistently served the people with his own resources before asking for public office, he deserves to be judged on that record.

*The future belongs to the people, and the people deserve a leader who has already demonstrated the heart to serve.*

*Chief Agwu Ama Agwu*
