WE MURDERED A RETIRED DPO IN BAUCHI FOR TRAILING US, LAWMAKER FOR STINGINESS – SUSPECTS

Their body frame and seeming innocent looks would never give them away as robbers, let alone being members of a notorious gang that had been terrorizing Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

But the trio of Hashimu Galadima,aka Kan Wuka, Abduwahab Abdulhassan,aka Emeka and Abdulwahab Ahmed a.k.a Dan Mama , confessed to being behind several kidnappings, robbery operations and some murders in Bauchi.

One of their victims as disclosed ,was a lawmaker at the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Musa Mante Baraza.

The lawmaker representing Dass constituency was killed in August 2020, by bandits who stormed his house at night.

After snuffing life out of him, they abducted his two wives and one-year-old child .

Another victim was former Divisional Police Officer in charge of Tafawa Balewa Division ,CSP Garkuwa.

The sin of the cop was that he deprived bandits access to operate in areas under his watch.

The arrest of the suspected deadly gang members was made following a directive by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba, to the Force Intelligence Response Team, IRT , headed by Tunji Disu, a Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Crime Guard gathered that some members of the gang were earlier arrested in connection with the murder of the lawmaker ,while others are still on the run when news of the latest arrest reached them.

Acting on credible information, operatives of the Inspector-General of Police IGP Intelligence Response Team IRT of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested a deadly kidnap for ransom syndicate who kidnapped the wife and two children of a serving lawmaker Hon. Dr Ibrahim Aminu in Katsina State.

Sequel to the intelligence reports on the activities of the deadly criminal gangs by IRT operatives attached to the Operation Restore Hope of the Force in Yankwani village and Kurani town, the team swung into action and arrested the suspects in their various hideouts.

IRT personnel arrested the key suspects Muttaka Ibrahim, Suleiman Rabiu, and Surajo all male and natives of Bakori LGA for allegedly supplying the information that led to the assault on the lawmaker where his family member's were taken into captivity.

During investigation, Muttaka Ibrahim confessed to the crime saying that he and other gang members were informants to Sanni Tukur AKA Abacha terrorising the people of the villages and towns in Katsina and Zamfara States.

They were said to have volunteered information to the bandit leader leading to the kidnapping of Hon.Dr. Ibrahim Aminu's wife and six others natives.

Other victims of the syndicate's criminal gang include Buhari Usman, also known as Fedeco, Nazaradeen Ibrahim, Amandallah Ahmad, Ibrahim Suleiman, Sumayya Nura and Yahaya Bura who are currently in the captivity of the gang.

The kidnappers after kidnapping the wife of the lawmaker Rabi Yusuf and two of his male children all of Bakori LGA had demanded and received eleven million naira and ten million naira for his children at different times.

Upon interrogation, the bandit informant Muttaka Ibrahim admitted haven gotten a payment of one hundred and thirty thousand naira (N130,000) from the gang leader adding that one Yusuf Bala of Zaria is his accomplice.

He also admitted that the bandit leader collected a total of six million five hundred thousand naira from the victims they kidnaped at Yankwani town

Narrating his ordeal, the lawmaker told Police investigators that he paid a total sum of thirty seven million and five hundred thousand naira to the gang leader to secure his family member's release from captivity.

All the suspects are still undergoing investigation by the Police and would be charged to court if found culpable in the crime according to the leader of the team.

The Inspector-General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba has directed that all the weapons, arms and ammunition in the hands of criminal elements should be followed through every effort.

The Police authorities through the Force Spokesman CSP Muyiwa Adejobi have assured that all the suspects are going to be prosecuted in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the nation.

Police Parade 26 Suspects, Recover Cache Of Arms, Ammunition

The Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has arrested 26 suspects for various criminal activities ranging from conspiracy, kidnappings, cattle rustling to armed robbery amongst others.

Parading the suspects comprising 21 males and five females, in Abuja on Tuesday, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CP Frank Mba, disclosed that the IGP-IRT led by DCP Olatunji Disu nabbed them in Zaria, Kaduna State, Port Harcourt Rivers State and other places across the country following tip-off from the members of the public.

The FPRO who was flanked by the Commander of the team, Disu explained that the suspects were arrested through the joint efforts of the men of the Force Intelligence Bureau and the Intelligence Response Team from their various hideouts in the country.

The suspects are Abdulkarem Dalhatu, Shaibu Yusuf alias Yalli, and Muktar Halilu alias Likita.

According to him, “on 30th November 2021 at about 16.00hrs, a team of FIB-IRT Rigachikun based on operation Puff-Adder II, succeeded in arresting One Abdulkareem Dalhatu of Kako village, Shaibu Yusuf of and Muktar Halilu in Zaria Local Goverment Area of Kaduna state.”

He said that the suspects conspired with one Sani Idris alias Yaroro, Isah Ibrahim alias Isiya Danwasa and other members of their gang all at large in terrorizing people within Zaria and environs with series of armed robbery, kidnapping and cattle rustling cases.

He said that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to have participated in several armed robbery, cattle rustling and kidnapping operations in the area.

He added that they also admitted having attacked at KG. Medical Diagnosis Service Kofar Gayan Zaria city on 5/08/2021 where a staff of the hospital was kidnapped and later released but they threatened to return, and they later collected cash sum of N3 million from the owner of hospital Dr. Peter Nnamani.

According to him, the suspects also attacked the house of Miss Hafsat Abubakar Bukhari, a pharmacist attached to ABUTH Shika Zaria and kidnapped her brother Yusha’u Abubakar Yahaya Musa and Anas surname unknown all of No. 80 Limanchi Kona Zaria city, in September.

He added that a ransom cash payment of the sum of N1.5m, and N2 million were collected from them respectively and other several operations.

The suspects also attacked at the house of Major AA. Zubairu at Kofar Gayan on June 10, 2021, but they were repelled by the security agents after exchange of gunfire while they took to their heel with gunshot wounds and four of them later died.

According to him, “the criminals again kidnapped one of the children of DSC. Auwal Yakubu the public relations officer, NCS Tincan Island Lagos and some undisclosed amount of money was callected as ransom.

“They also kidanpped one Fatima Nura ‘F’ 18yrs, Yasira Aminu ‘F’ 12yrs and Abdulmumuni Adamu ‘M’ 35yrs were cash sum of N6.8m was collected as ransom.”

The Police Spokesperson also paraded another gang comprising Muslim Abubakar, Lawisa Hassan, Hajara Abubakar and Maryam Abubakar for consipracy and kidnapping for ransom.

He said that based on credible information, the Police operatives in the team of FIB-IRT Rigachikun based on operation Puff-Adder II on October 17, 2021 succeeded in arresting all the suspects of Hanwa Zaria who specialized in taking women to kidnappers at their camp located at Galadimawa in Giwa Local Goveenment Area of Kaduna State.

He stated that investigation revealed that the said Muslin Abubakar criminally conspired with Lawisa Hassan, deceived one Khadija Idris and Khadija Musa all female residents of Hanwa Zaria and took them to kidnappers, r***d them and demand ransom from their relations.

According to him, while the said Maryam Abubakar was taking married women to them and get paid she said Hajara Abubakar was among the married women taken to the camp for adultery.

The Police also paraded one Koko Ita Oko, a physically challenged man said to be the suspect that carried out survellilance on security and law enforcement agents and drives the criminal gang during some of the operations.

Another suspect paraded was one Obed Stanley 31, said to be a graduate of Mass Communication at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) who was arrested with assorted AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines and other weapons.

He was said to have been reported to the Police authorities by a man who he allegedly threatened to deal with and was searched and apprehended with these arms and ammunition.

Some exhibits recovered from the suspects include five AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines, locally fabricated guns and 157 rounds of live ammunition.

The Police High Command therefore warned citizens to be careful of the kind of company they keep with their relations as some of these relations might be criminals in disguise who might be waiting for small opportunities to perpetrate their evil acts of criminality.

Mba assured that all the suspects would be immediately charged to the nation’s court of law upon the conclusion of the investigation being conducted by the Police detectives on criminal cases.

POLICE TACKLE NEW TREND OF KIDNAPPING IN TARABA COMMUNITY, ARREST 11 NOTORIOUS KIDNAPPERS, RECOVER 7 AK47 RIFLES, 121 LIVE AMMUNITION, OTHERS

- IGP assures sustained efforts at improving public safety in all Nigerian communities

The Operatives of the Nigeria Police Intelligence Response Team, working with the Taraba State Police Command, have arrested a total of eleven (11) notorious kidnapping suspects in Taraba State for their complicity and various criminal roles in the recent trend of kidnapping incidents in Taraba State including the kidnapping of a serving personnel of the Nigeria Customs Service, kidnapping of a relative of the Emir of Jalingo and the killing of a Police Sergeant in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital. The Police team equally recovered seven (7) AK47 rifles, two (2) Beretta pistols, one hundred and twenty-one (121) rounds of live ammunition of different calibre, four (4) magazines, masks, illicit drugs and other incriminating items during raids of various hideouts of the suspects in the State.

The arrest of the suspects follows the deployment of operatives of the Intelligence Response Team by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc to Taraba State to complement the efforts of the Taraba State Police Command in promptly containing the disturbing trend of kidnapping, armed robbery, and other violent crimes in the State.

The suspects, Luka Adam, Shuaibu Nuhu, Moses Amos, Peters Mashi, Ahmadu Mallam, Adamu Mohammed, Dahiru Mallam Dalha, Gambo Isah, Sanusi Ahmadu, Mallam Mohammed Mauludu, Ibrahim Idi, all indigenes of Taraba State, were arrested by the Police team from their various criminal hideouts.

Police investigations revealed that the suspects, who have also been on the wanted list of the Taraba Police Command, are members of a notorious kidnap syndicate and have been evidentially linked to the recent upsurge in incidents of kidnapping in the State, including the deliberate and calculated attacks on security personnel. Investigations also revealed how two (2) of the suspects, Gambo Isah and Sanusi Ahmadu masterminded the killing of the Police Sergeant and left a Police Inspector with gunshot injuries in their recent operation to enable them escape arrest having abducted some victims in Jalingo recently.

Investigations further revealed that the modi operandi of the suspects include trailing individuals - Business owners, Government Functionaries, motorists with flashy and exotic cars, etc - to their houses and thereafter planning and executing the kidnap of such persons. They also collect huge sums of money as ransom from relatives and friends of their victims before their release.

The Police in the course of investigations equally identified and raided various criminal hideouts where kidnap victims are usually kept. While cache of weapons and other incriminating items were recovered from the hideouts, all the kidnap victims held hostage at the various hideouts were carefully and successfully rescued unhurt and reunited with their families. Meanwhile investigators are intensifying efforts at arresting other suspects currently at large.

The IGP, while commending the good people of Taraba State for supporting the Police especially in providing useful information that aided the prompt apprehension of the suspects, assured that the Police will continue to work with all stakeholders in deepening the collective safety of the Taraba people. The IGP condoled the family of the late Sergeant Ogidi Habu and added that the Force will sustain efforts at improving public safety in all Nigerian communities.
All the suspects will be charged to court on completion of investigations.

DCP Disu – Led IRT In Maiden Major Breakthrough, Arrest Kaduna Catholic Priest Kidnappers, Others… Recover GPMG Arms, Ammunition

The Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has arrested two (2) suspects in connection with the abduction of a Catholic Priest in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State. The suspects, Abubakar Usman ‘m’ 21yrs and Salisu Abdullahi ‘m’ 28yrs, were arrested by the Police team following intense intelligence-led operations to unravel, arrest and bring to book, the criminal gang responsible for a series of related high-profile kidnap operations in Kaduna State.

Investigations by the Police Team revealed how the arrested principal suspects masterminded and led other gang members to carry out the dastardly act. One (1) GPMG and three (3) AK47 rifles were recovered from the suspects while effort is still ongoing to arrest other members of the gang.

“Similarly, the Police arrested three (3) ex-convicts, Abel Nanfa, ‘m’ 23 yrs, Nankum Wazhi, ‘m’ 32 yrs, and Jonah Patrick, ‘m’ 25 yrs, in Plateau State for their involvement in armed robbery, kidnapping and car theft within the Jos metropolis. Investigations revealed that the suspects, after serving their jail term, returned to their nefarious activities before nemesis caught up with them.

The suspects were arrested while trading a Toyota Corolla Vehicle which they snatched at gun point from one of their victims in Jos. One (1) AK47 rifle, one (1) Berretta Pistol and Twenty – One (21) rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the suspects.

“In another development, the Police Team arrested one Abubakar Haliru, ‘m’, 48 yrs old, of Zaria LGA in Kaduna State, who lured his cousin, one Binta Mohammed and handed her over to his kidnap gang members in Galadimawa forest in Kaduna State. Binta narrowly escaped from the kidnap gang and thereafter contacted the Police before her eventual rescue. Investigations revealed that Haliru and his gang members are in the habit of taking advantage of family ties to deceive and abduct family members.

A total of forty-seven (48) suspects were arrested in the various operations, while exhibits recovered include: One (1) GPMG, Twenty – Two (22) sophisticated fi****ms and weapons of different calibre, Five Hundred and Twenty – Five (525) ammunition, one (1) hacksaw, and mobile phones were recovered from the suspects.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has assured the nation that the Force will remain committed to cracking down on criminal networks, mopping – up illicit weapons in the hands of criminal elements and generally working toward enhancing public safety in the country. The IGP also urged citizens to continue to provide useful information to the police to aid in the crime fighting efforts. All the suspects will be charged to court on conclusion of investigations.”

I HAVE TURNED A NEW LEAF “ROBBERY SUSPECT BEGS POLICE”

A Twenty – Seven (27) year old suspected member of a dreaded armed robbery gang, which operated in Abuja and neighbouring states has been arrested by the police, while efforts are on to arrest other members of his gang.

The suspect, Christian Clifford, who claimed to have stopped robbery, had twice escaped from the police and from operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and escaped with handcuffs.

The suspect who was arrested by a combined team of the Intelligent Response Team (IRT) on 22nd September 2021 at an undisclosed hotel in the Kubwa area of the nation's capital.

In a confessional statement made to the police team after his arrest, the suspect opened-up that he had robbed at different points in Abuja metropolis and Keffi in Nassarawa State and also that he had earlier jumped from Police vehicle in one of his travails in Police net upon being taken to court for arraignment.

He claimed to be an indigene of Plateau State, but was born in Takum, Taraba State, where his parents raised him and his siblings before he relocated to Abuja.

On the locations where he had robbed victims and perpetrated his nefarious act, he said that he alongside three other gang members had robbed a family in Jos road Keffi, and one other house at Karu area of Abuja, where they stole a laptop and were later arrested.

The suspect said that he has stopped participating in armed robbery activities and that he is now a registered photographer at the National Centre for Women Development.

He also confessed to have robbed a family of the sum of N18,000,000.00 Eighteen Million Naira, some phones and other items at Jos road in Keffi Nassarawa State in 2015.

Clifford also told the police that he escaped from the custody of the disbanded Special Anti - Robbery Squad (SARS), after a stolen phone was tracked to him.

He claimed to have bought the phone in question from a friend, who he alleged introduced him to robbery, but the police investigations revealed that the phone and others were stolen during a robbery operation at the GSM Village, Wuse, Abuja.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), fdc, NPM, while commending security operatives for the unrelenting fight against violent crimes in the country, assured citizens of the commitment of the Force to improving public safety and security and upholding law and order in the country.
