APPRECIATION: DIRECT DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF MATERIALS FROM NEMA.
Dear All,
1. December 22nd 2023 marked a significant occasion as we gathered to witness the direct distribution of relief materials jointly midwifed by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Nigeria. This event stands as a testament to the crucial role NEMA plays in our nation's resilience and disaster response.
2. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to NEMA DG Mustapha Habib Ahmed, The South-East Zonal Co-ordinator Mrs. Ngozi Echeazu, Mr. Ezeani Nnanyelugo and other team members for their unwavering commitment to mitigating the impact of disaster in Aninri | Awgu | Oji-River Federal Constituency.
3. The strong partnership demonstrated by NEMA, working hand in hand with my offices and various stakeholders since July 2023, exemplifies the collaborative spirit required to address the challenges our communities face.
4. I want to express my deepest appreciation to all the stakeholders involved – from governmental bodies to non-governmental organizations, volunteers, independent observers, political, religious, and community leaders. Your collective efforts have made the relief distribution possible, emphasizing the strength that unity brings in times of need.
5. Equally, I extend my sincere thanks to the beneficiaries across Greater Awgu who braved all odds to honour this invitation. Your cooperation enhanced transparency, accountability, and democracy.
5. In conclusion, let us remember that we must look after one another in challenging times. Together, we stand resilient, facing, and conquering social challenges.
6. Thank you, and may the spirit of the new year continue to guide us in our efforts to build a better tomorrow for all.

NASS | AAOFC| 0033 MOTION ON:
Revitalization of Oji–River Federal Pilot Tannery
Status: Completed.
1. Yesterday, I presented a Motion on the floor of the House seeking to revitalise the Oji-River Pilot Tannery and it was seconded by Hon. Saad Wada Taura Representing Ringin | Taura Federal Constituency of Jigawa State.
2. The Motion was voted on, adopted, and referred to the House Committee on Science and Technology concerning funding provisions for its revitalization and upgrade to international standards in the 2024 budget estimates.
3. Recall that on page 25 of the CSO Manifesto, I proposed to aggressively pursue the revitalization of Oji-River Federal Pilot Tannery [See or Download Here https://shorturl.at/intR9].
4. In realizing this objective, I visited the facility in my first month in office and witnessed a devastating level of dilapidation added to a distressing backlog of unpaid gratuities to the retired workers.
5. I started making the move to revive the Tannery via a Motion Coded NASS | AAOFC | 0033 dated July 11th 2023 and a Motion Request Coded NASS | AAOFC | 0044 dated July 12th 2023.
6. These steps were documented and discussed during my First Virtual Town Hall Meeting after spending a month serving the constituency [ See https://shorturl.at/rzNOV].
7. The first phase of this cause is accomplished, in the next phase, my target is to make sure that the retired Tannery workers get their gratuities and other entitlements as quickly as possible.
8. Every step we take in the project is scientific and this philosophy will continue to direct our vision. The process to excellence is strenuous but I promised you sustainable development.
9. I especially wish to thank my brothers and Hon. Colleagues for contributing to this debate: Hon. Saad Wada Taura , Hon Pharm Nnolim Nnaji Nkanu East/West Federal Constituency,
Uchenna Harris Annie-Okonkwo, Rt Hon Inuwa Garba, and Hon Ahmed Idris Wase.
10. Many thanks to all the people w

ENDING BANDITRY IN NORTH-WESTERN STATES OF NIGERIA.

ENDING BANDITRY IN NORTH-WESTERN STATES OF NIGERIA.
I seconded an amendment ably moved by my Hon. colleague: Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi of Zamfara State who rightly proposed a turn to a regional approach to solving the banditry problem.
In his amended prayer, he urged the Chief of Defence Staff to launch a regional operation involving all the North-Western states to ensure a unified approach in the fight against banditry covering the zone.
He also added a prayer urging the Chief of Army Staff to create more forward operating bases in all the areas being liberated from the bandits to ensure a lasting peace in those areas.
Step by step and piece by piece, we will resolve the dominating problems across the country.

INTERACTIVE SESSION OF AD-HOC COMMITTEE ON MEDICAL AND DENTAL COUNCIL OF NIGERIA CONCERNING ALL NIGERIAN MEDICAL STUDENTS IN UKRAINE

INTERACTIVE SESSION OF AD-HOC COMMITTEE ON MEDICAL AND DENTAL COUNCIL OF NIGERIA CONCERNING ALL NIGERIAN MEDICAL STUDENTS IN UKRAINE
Honourable members of the Ad-hoc Committee on Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria - MDCN held an interactive session with esteemed representatives from the Embassy of Ukraine, officials from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, distinguished members of the Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Ministry of Education, and the National University Commission, as well as concerned parents.
Our students in Ukraine, particularly those pursuing medical education, have demonstrated unwavering dedication and resilience. However, they have faced numerous obstacles that hinder their academic progress and overall well-being. It is our collective responsibility to address these issues comprehensively.
Throughout our deliberations, my colleagues and I have advocated for the establishment of standardized procedures that will empower our students to navigate these challenges effectively.
I am satisfied with what we have achieved in September notwithstanding our teething challenges. This interactive session signifies a pivotal moment in our efforts to find lasting solutions to the challenges our students encounter within and outside the borders.
In conclusion, I implore all stakeholders to join hands in ensuring that these challenges are addressed comprehensively and urgently. Together, we can create an environment where our students can pursue their dreams and contribute to the betterment of our nation's healthcare system.
Thank you.
