NCC Mandates Service Providers to Inform Consumers About Major Network Outages, Launches Consumer Information Portal
In a significant move to enhance transparency and protect telecom consumers across Nigeria, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has issued a new directive mandating all service providers to promptly inform subscribers about major outages and service disruptions on their networks.
As part of this initiative, the NCC has also launched a dedicated Consumer Information Portal where users can access real-time updates on network status, planned maintenance, and other critical service information. This platform is designed to ensure consumers are kept informed and empowered to make better decisions regarding their telecom services.
As the Yobe State Focal Person on Telecommunications, I wholeheartedly welcome this development. It reflects NCC’s strong commitment to consumer rights, service quality, and transparency within the telecommunications sector.
I urge all telecom users in Yobe State and beyond to take advantage of this portal and remain updated about the services they rely on daily. Together, we can promote greater accountability and continuous improvement in service delivery.
This is a step in the right direction for Nigeria’s digital future.
