The Honourable Minister of State for Regional Development, H.E. Uba Maigari Ahmadu, was at the residence of Damian Dodo, SAN, yesterday to commiserate with the family and receive guests who came to pay their condolences following the passing of his mother, Mrs. Rabi D.D. Dodo.

Ma Rabi, as she was fondly called, was a maternal aunt of the Honourable Minister. She passed away in the early hours of Thursday, 20th August 2026, in Abuja.

As part of the ongoing inspection of NEDC projects in Borno State, the Honourable Minister of State for Regional Development, H.E. Uba Maigari Ahmadu, commissioned the Fertility Care Centre and En-suite Maternity Complex at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

The facility was built, equipped, and donated to the University of Maiduguri by the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) to strengthen maternal and fertility care services in the region.

The Honourable Minister of State for Regional Development joined the Executive Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, CON, the NEDC management and other stakeholders at the 9th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Association of Radiologists in Nigeria (ARIN 2026) at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

The conference focused on advancing healthcare delivery, medical education, research, and specialist services, particularly across the North-East.

The Honourable Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with development commissions and stakeholders to improve healthcare infrastructure and services across the region and Nigeria.

Today, 13 August 2026, the Honourable Minister of State for Regional Development, H.E. Uba Maigari Ahmadu, joined distinguished dignitaries to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, and the launch of her books, Making Reforms Work: Leadership Lessons from the Implementation of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 and Help of God.

The occasion brought together senior government officials, including the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack; former SGF Boss Mustapha, CFR; former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN; the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Prof. Tunji Olaopa; former ministers and permanent secretaries, serving permanent secretaries, heads of government agencies, and other distinguished guests.

The celebration provided an opportunity to honour Dr. Yemi-Esan’s remarkable contributions to public service and her enduring commitment to institutional reform and effective leadership.

The delegation expressed their appreciation to the Honourable Minister for his continued support, humanitarian interventions, and contributions to the development of Donga Local Government and the APC Donga Local Government Chapter.
