Earlier today, I received a delegation of House of Representatives aspirants from across the Northern States, alongside members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the National Secretariat in Abuja.

I warmly welcomed them to the APC, assuring them that this is where they truly belong—a progressive family where everyone has a place, regardless of background or previous political experience.

I commended the coordinator for his outstanding efforts since joining our party and encouraged the aspirants to remain steadfast. I reminded them that I have also contested elections and lost, but destiny has its time for everyone. What matters is our determination to keep working towards our aspirations.

I also highlighted the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, particularly in infrastructure, road construction, gas development, student support and economic reforms. From major road projects across the North to the ongoing AKK gas pipeline, the administration is laying the foundation for a stronger Nigerian economy.

I am confident that President Tinubu’s record, experience and vision give the APC compelling reasons to seek another mandate in 2027.

With our extensive grassroots structures, governors, local government chairmen and party executives, the APC remains a formidable political force.

My message was simple: we must remain united, inclusive and committed to our shared destiny. Together, we will strengthen our party and work towards victory in 2027.

Today, we begin an important assignment of bringing together the strength of our national structures, the experience of our leaders and the energy of our members to build a coordinated and credible campaign for the 2027 presidential election.

With the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council of our great ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, our mission is to communicate the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, acknowledge existing challenges and present a compelling vision for Nigeria’s future.

Through unity, discipline and effective mobilisation, we will engage Nigerians on the issues that matter most and demonstrate why the Renewed Hope agenda deserves continuity.

I was delighted to receive in my office at the National Secretariat of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), members of the Savanna Centre’s Council of the Wise, led by its Chairman and former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.

I commended the distinguished members for sacrificing their time and experience to promote peace, credible elections and democratic stability in our country. Their decision to lend their voices to these critical national issues is both timely and commendable.

As a party, we are committed to peaceful elections, respect for democratic institutions and the rule of law. Having served as an INEC commissioner, participated in elections as a candidate and now serving as APC National Chairman, I understand the responsibilities involved at every level. We recently held a strategic retreat to assess our performance and developed 14 pillars to evaluate electoral preparedness, peace and potential threats to violence across the states.

Our focus remains on grassroots mobilisation, issue-based campaigns and presenting our achievements and vision to Nigerians.

We welcome the Council’s commitment to promoting electoral integrity and urge it to continue speaking boldly and impartially against electoral malpractice, violence and any conduct capable of undermining democracy. Nigeria needs a political culture where manifestos, policies and development take centre stage.

The Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on infrastructure, economic opportunities and national development, and we are ready to engage the opposition on the issues that matter to our people. Democracy is strengthened when every stakeholder upholds fairness, peace and the will of the people.

Earlier today, I led the National Working Committee of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to meet with Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A), a northern political mobilisation organisation supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, at our National Secretariat in Abuja.

I was overwhelmed by the calibre and diversity of people in this organisation. From former governors and senators to serving and former legislators and other prominent stakeholders, A4A reflects a remarkable balance of age, gender, profession and experience. This is how we mentor future leaders and build a stronger North.

For too long, some have suggested that Northern Nigeria does not support President Tinubu. Today’s gathering demonstrates the depth of political engagement and support for his administration across the region. I look forward to A4A showcasing its broad-based structure to the world through a major press conference, highlighting the many northern stakeholders united behind the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Beyond politics, we must acknowledge the ongoing development across the North, including thousands of kilometres of roads completed or under construction, expanding gas infrastructure and educational support through NELFUND. These initiatives offer opportunities for economic growth, employment and improved livelihoods.

I commend A4A for its mobilisation efforts and urge the organisation to sustain its engagement across the 19 northern states and the FCT as we work towards a stronger North and a greater Nigeria.

Today, I led the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to the successful grand rally of the North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network, hosted by Governor Abdullahi Sule at Lafia Square, Nasarawa State. The Mother of the Nation, Her Excellency, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, also led a powerful delegation of women from across the six states of the North Central to the rally.

I commended the organisers for their impressive political mobilisation and commitment to securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in January 2027. I particularly acknowledged the contributions of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the host Governor and other party leaders and stakeholders whose collaboration made the massive gathering possible.

President Tinubu deserves a second term to consolidate the gains of his bold reforms, strengthen the economy, expand infrastructure and put Nigeria firmly on the path of sustainable development. The North Central has compelling reasons to sustain its partnership with this administration, given the federal government's commitment to the region.

As we approach the 2027 general elections, I urge our governors, party leaders, traditional rulers, women, youths and grassroots mobilisers to take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to every ward and polling unit. The task ahead requires unity, commitment and sustained engagement with our people.

The message from Lafia is clear: North Central is ready to mobilise, consolidate and deliver overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in January 2027, alongside all APC candidates.

Together, we will consolidate the Renewed Hope Agenda and build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.

Guests and delegates from across the North-Central region are arriving at Lafia Square, Nasarawa State, for the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network Mega Rally in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The gathering brings together participants from Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Today, Friday, 9 October 2026, I received a delegation of 14 former House of Representatives and State House of Assembly candidates from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Princess Dr. Aslam Aliyu Zamfara, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Buhari House, our National Secretariat in Abuja. The delegation was received alongside our National Secretary and other members of the National Working Committee. Their decision to join our party reflects their willingness to work within the APC platform and contribute to the democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The delegation pledged to mobilise two million votes in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid. I welcome this commitment and encourage them to translate their enthusiasm into organised grassroots engagement, voter education and constructive participation across their respective constituencies. Our party remains open to Nigerians who are ready to contribute their experience, ideas and energy to strengthening our structures and advancing our shared national objectives.

As we prepare for the 2027 general elections, I urge our new members to embrace unity, discipline and teamwork, while respecting the party’s constitution and internal democratic processes. Together with our existing members and stakeholders, we must continue to engage Nigerians, deepen our grassroots connections and promote inclusive participation in our democracy.

I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the families of the passengers and crew members who lost their lives in the tragic aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State. This is a devastating loss, made even more painful by the confirmation that there were no survivors. At this difficult moment, my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families as they confront the unimaginable pain of losing their loved ones.

I also extend my heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Air Force, the Armed Forces of Nigeria and all those connected to the victims. The loss of our military personnel in such tragic circumstances is a painful blow to the nation, considering the sacrifices they make in the service and defence of our country. May God grant the families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and comfort them in their hour of grief.

To all Nigerians, I share in our collective sorrow over this tragic incident. At a time like this, we must stand together in compassion and solidarity, irrespective of political, ethnic or other differences. May God Almighty receive the souls of the departed, grant them eternal rest, and grant Nigeria the strength to heal from this painful tragedy. May such a devastating incident never occur again.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY TO ALL NIGERIANS
Let me first wish all Nigerians, at home and in the Diaspora, a very happy 66th Independence Anniversary. Today, we celebrate the resilience, courage and enduring spirit of a great people. Despite our challenges, Nigeria remains a nation of immense possibilities, and our faith in her future must never waver.

At 66, Nigeria is on a journey of renewal. The reforms of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration are laying the foundations for a stronger and more prosperous economy. While the transition has brought challenges and the benefits are yet to reach every Nigerian, the commitment to rebuilding our economy, attracting investment and strengthening our nation remains unwavering.

As the governing party, the All Progressives Congress recognises the legitimate concerns of Nigerians, particularly over the cost of living. We remain committed to supporting policies that create opportunities, strengthen businesses, empower our young people and improve the quality of life of our citizens. Our ultimate goal is a Nigeria where every citizen can live with dignity and hope.

On this Independence Day, let us renew our faith in Nigeria and in what we can achieve together. Let us choose unity over division, hope over despair and patriotism over cynicism. Together, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams and leave a stronger, more united and prosperous nation for generations to come.

Earlier today, I received the representatives of the ADC candidates from four states who defected to our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), at my office at the National Secretariat in Abuja. The defectors, from Zamfara, Plateau, Taraba and Jigawa States, have decided to join the APC and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Led by Dr. Princess Aslam Aliyu from Zamfara State, the delegation expressed their conviction that President Tinubu remains capable of taking Nigeria to greater heights. I warmly welcomed them into the APC family and commended them for placing what they consider the broader national interest above personal political ambitions.

I told them that joining the APC is not merely about changing political platforms, but about becoming active participants in building a stronger party and contributing to the development of our nation. I therefore urged them to return to their respective wards and communities and immediately commence grassroots mobilisation, assuring them that their contributions would be recognised and their decision communicated to President Tinubu.
