In commemoration of the International Woman’s Day, the Hon. minister of state, FCT, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu hosted over 50 Africa Young women in a beauty pageant held at the Chida International Event Centre Abuja to drive home the irreplaceable roles and importance the girl child holds in Africa and the world in general.
In her opening remarks, the Minister congratulated all the participants from various African countries especially as they imbibe all the positives acquired during the event and charged them to go and become good ambassadors of their countries and join the voice in equality of the girl child noting that the days of pulling women down are over.
Mama Africa as she is popularly referred as charged her fellow women to strive in supporting each other regardless of status, age, stature, tribe or religion.
While also urging her male counterparts to imagine a gender equal world where every barriers are broken for equality of all.
The Honorable Minister charged women to get more involved in governance and come out clear with great intent and with the integration of what women wants as should be included in the constitution noting that power are not gotten at a platter of gold, the High spirited leader reiterated that women must prove what they want beyond saying it.
