The Association of Northwest Stakeholders Forum of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria has honoured the Registrar/CEO of the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria, Professor Bashir Idris (Lifidin Jama’a), in recognition of his outstanding academic excellence and exemplary leadership in advancing the community health profession.

CHPRBN Strengthens Collaboration with Wesley University, Ondo, as Vice-Chancellor Announces Conferment of Professorial Rank on Registrar/CEO.

The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN), Associate Professor Bashir Idris (Lifidin Jama’á), today received the management team of Wesley University, Ondo, led by its Vice-Chancellor, Rt. Rev. Professor Samuel Sunday Obeka, in a strategic visit aimed at deepening institutional collaboration and advancing the community health profession in Nigeria.

Welcoming the delegation, the Registrar/CEO expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to fostering productive partnerships with academic institutions. He emphasised CHPRBN’s open-door policy and urged the university to sustain strict compliance with the Board’s regulatory standards and guidelines governing community health training and practice.

CHPRBN CHAMPIONS REINTRODUCTION OF BCHS DEGREE AT NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA (NOUN)

In a strategic move to bolster the nation’s primary healthcare system, a high-level delegation from the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN), led by Professor Sabo, paid an advocacy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Uduma Oji Uduma of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) at its Abuja headquarters.

The delegation, representing the Registrar/CEO of CHPRBN, Ass. Prof. Bashir Idris (Lifidin Jama'a), successfully secured a commitment from the university to mount the Bachelor of Community Health Science (BCHS) degree programme, with studies expected to commence by January 2027.

The advocacy visit was a resounding success. The management of NOUN pledged their support and agreed to mount the BCHS degree programme. The university leadership noted that the commencement of the programme will address a critical need for continuous professional development within the community health sector.

The CHPRBN team also demonstrated their appreciation for the collaborative spirit shown by the university's leadership, presenting a gift of NUC-branded bags to the Vice Chancellor. This gesture served as a testimony to the Registrar's courage and the board's profound appreciation for the University's commitment to advancing community health education.

CHPRBN Commends NUC Approval of Community Health Science Programme at Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK)

The Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) wishes to inform the general public and relevant stakeholders that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of twelve (12) additional academic programmes at the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK), Kaduna State.

Notably, the approval of Community Health Science stands out as a landmark achievement for the community health profession in Nigeria.

This development represents a significant step forward in strengthening the academic and professional foundation of community health practice. It further reinforces the critical role of community health in primary healthcare delivery, disease prevention, and health promotion at the grassroots level.
