Yesterday, I had the honour to receive the Vice Chairmen of the Local Governments in Yobe State led by Hon. Isa Babayaro Gulani the Vice Chairman, Gulani Local Government who came for some engagement but found time to pay a visit on me.

I enjoined them to be dedicated to their responsibilities and support their Chairmen in improving the quality of life of the common man at the grassroots which is their main responsibility.

I have also advised them to promote peace, progress and development of Yobe State through their forum of Vice Chairmen of the Local Governments.

I am highly moved by the murder of innocent people of Mafa town in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe Stae. This is indeed a great loss not only to the people of Mafa, the Tarmuwa Local Government, Yobe State but the entire Country at large.

I commiserate with His Excellency, the Executive Governor and all the people of Yobe State.

I wish to also seize this opportunity to extend my sympathy to the Government and people of Yobe State for the various flood disasters across the state in this difficult times.

I also appeal to all the relevant agencies of both the Federal Government and the state to come to the support and assistance of the victims of the massacre and wanton destruction of properties in Mafa and those of the flood disasters across the State.

I pray to the Almighty Allah to give eternal bliss to those who lost their lives, fast recovery to those who are injured and grant courage to the families who lost their dear ones and all of us the people of Yobe State to bear with this sad situation.

I applaud and felicitate with the well deserved appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu Ibn Grema as the new Emir of Tikau by His Excellency, Hon Mai Mala Buni ,the Executive Governor of Yobe State to succeed his late father Alh. Dr. Muhammadu Abubakar lbn Grema may Allah grant him His Rahama of the Hereafter.

The new Emir of Tikau is an accomplished public servant, humble and a community leader committed to the well being, unity and progress of his people who is already well endeared to his people.There is no doubt he would follow the good traits and foot steps of his late father by promoting peace, harmony and development in Nangere Emirate and beyond.

On behalf of the good people of Yobe South, I congratulate His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu Ibn Grema, the new Emir of Tikau and wish him a very long and peaceful reign, good health, Allah's guidance and protection in the discharge of the heavy burden of leadership bestowed upon him.

I wish to assure the new Emir of Tikau of my absolute cooperation and support in sustaining peace, progress, development of Tikau Emirate and promoting unity amongst our diverse communities in Yobe South.

PRESS RELEASE BY DISTINGUISHED SENATOR IBRAHIM MOHAMMED BOMAI YOBE SOUTH ON CONFIRMATION OF SENATOR ALHAJI IBRAHIM GAIDAM BY THE SENATE AS MINISTER

On behalf of all the stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress Party and the good people of Yobe South, I extend our felicitations and congratulations to His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Ibrahim Gaidam on his nomination by His Excellency the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as Minister and confirmation of his nomination by the Senate.

2. His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Ibrahim Gaidam an accomplished public servant who held the positions of Deputy Governor and Governor of Yobe State for ten (10) years and a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is the pillar of APC and politics in Yobe State. Therefore, his choice as Minister representing Yobe State as a consummate politician and astute statesman who possesses the qualities and experience to serve in that capacity is highly welcomed by the people of Yobe State.

3. Distinguished Senator Ibrahim Gaidam’s persistent commitment and absolute loyalty to Party ideals and interest is legendary and worthy of emulation by some of our inconsistent and divisive young politicians.

4. We the people of Yobe South and particularly the APC stakeholders have the absolute confidence that Distinguished Senator Ibrahim Gaidam will make an impact and contribute positively towards the realization of the policy objectives of the present administration in the country looking at his transformation of Yobe State while he was the governor.

As we commemorate Eid ul-Adha today, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the Muslim Ummah and the entire people of Yobe South and beyond.

Eid ul-Adha holds a significant place in our faith as Muslims, reminding us of the submission and devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) to the command of Allah, which teaches us that no sacrifice is greater than the will of Allah, our creator and savior.

While celebrating this occasion, we should therefore not look at it only as a day for merry-making, but rather reflect on the good virtues associated with it and strive to emulate them in our lives.

I implore each and every one of us to also use this day to pray fervently for the unity, peace, and progress of our beloved nation, Nigeria.

As someone to whom you have entrusted your mandate at the Senate for the second time, I assure my good people of Yobe South of my total commitment and continued support in providing programs and projects for the development of our beloved Zone. In fulfilling this objective, I am fully aware of the challenges and constraints, but I am resolute in my determination to address them and bring about an enduring socio-economic structure for the betterment of the lives of our people.

In my second tenure of representation, while continuing with all projects and programs in diverse areas, I will give special attention to youth and women empowerment, recognizing them as the most vulnerable groups in our societies that need to be supported as the pillars for the economic emancipation of any community.

We must also embrace the spirit of Eid ul-Adha at all times by extending kindness, generosity, and compassion to those in need. By doing so, we can contribute to the betterment of our communities and the nation at large.

Once again, I extend my warmest greetings to you all on this special day. May its lessons continue to bring joy, peace, unity, and strengthen our bonds of brotherhood despite our diverse ethnic backgrounds, cultures, and faiths, as without peace and unity, we will never succeed as a people.

Finally, I pray to the Almighty Allah to continue guiding and protecting us in all our noble affairs.

I am highly elated to be inaugurated today to continue representing the good people of Yobe South in the Senate.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Distinguished Senators Godwill Akpabio and Barau Jibrin for their emergence as the President and Deputy President of the 10th Senate, respectively We have utmost confidence in their leadership and vision for a better Nigeria.

I seize this opportunity to thank my good people of Yobe South for bestowing their confidence in me for a second tenure.
