OSSAP on Humanitarian Affairs

Yesterday, Friday 26th July 2024, we had the pleasure of paying an official visit to the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Social Welfare and Poverty Alleviation, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule CON at the National Assembly.

The visit was among other things, to formally congratulate her on her appointment as the Chairman of the Committee that oversights our mandate, and to also intimate her with our activities, geared towards achieving the policy initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

In her response, the Distinguished Senator expressed her delight over the visit and reiterated her Committee's continued support and cooperation in the implementation of all Renewed Hope policies and programmes as it relates to Poverty Alleviation for the common good if all Nigerians.

Earlier this week, I had the honour of receiving the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, Adamawa State chapter in my office.
The visit which was led by the State Chairman, Barr. Idris Shuaibu said the aim of the visit was to formally congratulate me on my appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation by Mr President.

While appreciating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and all the key persons whom have played a role in my appointment which they termed as timely and well-deserved, the contingent expressed their satisfaction of my strides thus far, and further craved more good tidings as we seek to surmount the plethora of humanitarian challenges bedeviling the Nation.

Consequently, I am using this medium to thank the leadership of our party, the APC both National and State, and all our stakeholders for their contributions and sacrifices to our great Party and the Nation at large. We will continue to work in unison for stronger bond and collective progress for all Nigerians.

As part of our continued consultation with the most critical stakeholders in the Nation's security architecture, we paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Defense, Alh. Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, at his office today.

Since the subject of national security is a collective responsibility to all Nigerians, the aim of our visit is to intimate the Honourable Minister with our proposal, emphasizing the importance of Social and Humanitarian service to National Security.

We are optimistic that, by the end of our consultations, all stakeholders in the security sector, including experts in both humanitarian and social security will key into our project that seeks to advance the implementation of the Renewed Hope National Policy on Security.

APPRECIATION MESSAGE
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation wishes to extend its appreciation to His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, all top Government functionaries, especially, Prof. Tahir Mamman SAN - the Honourable Minister of Education, Sen. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi - the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, the Permanent Secretary - Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Alh. Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu - Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Dr. Maurice Mbaeri - Representative of the SGF, Hon. Obika Chinedu - House of Representatives Member for AMAC/Bwari Constituency, all other dignitaries and the members of the general public who took their time to grace the Flag-Off ceremony for our Nationwide Medical Outreach, Award of Scholarships and Distribution of Food to vulnerable Nigerians.

The intervention programme was carefully designed to cushion hardships of the downtrodden in line with the policy framework of the Renewed Hope Agenda by complimenting the efforts of Government.

The contributions of the aforementioned Ministers and Heads of Agencies, as well as Non-Governmental Organizations culminated into the realization of this laudable initiative that pulled an incredible crowed.
Scholarships were awarded to 30 wards of most vulnerable families, and to the best performing students in the 6 Area Councils of the FCT-Abuja. The Medical Outreach is however targeting more than 3 thousand beneficiaries in the FCT. The Distribution of Food on the other hand is designed for 1500 families at least.

The response from all those who graced the occasion is highly commendable, as people keep singing praises of the intervention programme, the government President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and also, the SSA to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation - Hon. Delu Bulus Yakubu.

Earlier yesterday, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Honourable Delu Bulus Yakubu received the leadership of RUSS LINK CONSULT INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, on a working visit to formally present a special proposal for intervention programme that seeks to reverse the high rate of infant mortality in the six States of Northeastern Nigeria, under the watch of North East Development Commission.
The project, which is and integral part of the Renewed Hope policy agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, will chart a new course in reversing the high rate of child losses before, during and after delivery within the Northeast geopolitical zone, and the Nation at large.
In its opening remarks, the leadership of the delegation, headed by Dr. Usman Abdulkadir FCMSP underscored the significance of the project, especially as it focuses on the vulnerable residents of a region that is grossly affected by the insurgency that lasted for more than a decade, rendering inefficient access to basic health facilities for the people.
On her own part, the Presidential aide observed that the project was carefully designed to address the most critical aspect of Humanitarian strides of this administration with greater commitment to the basic needs of the people. The SSA thanked the delegation for deliberately choosing her office to spare head the project. She further reiterated her commitment to realization of the project.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Delu Bulus Yakubu paid a condolence visit to Kano, to commiserate with the victims of the unfortunate Mosque arson that claimed the lives of many, living others on hospital beds.

The SSA who took time to visit the surviving victims on their hospital beds to offer her prayers and some cash considering the current economic brunt, observed that the gesture would aid their medical bills, as they continue to recuperate. She further prayed for the souls of the deceased, to find eternal rest.

In the same vein, the Presidential aide made a call for the people to report suspicious activities of individuals or groups, as they remain vigilant, going through their lawful businesses.

Furthermore, Mrs. Bulus craved the indulgence of all Nigerians to rally round the Renewed Hope policy agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration in its strides to deliver the Nigeria of our dream.

Earlier today, we received the leadership of Network for Adamawa Non-governmental Organisations (NANGO), a conglomeration of various NGOs in the State, on a courtesy call. The visit which was led by Dr. Abdullahi Dauda Belel stated that the aim of the visit was to congratulate me (Hon. Delu Bulus Yakubu) as their daughter, on my appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation by Mr. President. The delegation further commended my efforts thus far, reiterating the firm support of the entire people of Adamawa State on my giant strides in consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to better the lives of all Nigerians.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Hon. Delu Bulus Yakubu has today, been crowned as the DUH'KIL MBULA ( Heart of Mbula) by HRH Murum Bwaltam Bentley Biyapo Mboiman II of Mbula Kingdom, in Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa State. Long live the DUH'KIL MBULA.
