Yesterday, I had a productive engagement with the leadership of CreditCorp on a subject I strongly believe in: prevention is the most effective weapon against corruption.

Sustainable policy reforms—such as access to affordable consumer credit and education financing—can reduce the pressures that often drive financial crimes. When we create systems that give people legitimate opportunities to thrive, we strengthen integrity and build a more prosperous nation.

The fight against corruption is not only about enforcement; it is also about building policies and institutions that make corruption less attractive and integrity more rewarding.

Yesterday at the University of Ilorin, I shared my thoughts on the urgent need to protect the integrity of our electoral process ahead of the 2027 elections.

Vote buying and the monetisation of politics weaken democracy, undermine good governance, and deny citizens the leadership they deserve. Our votes must reflect conviction, not inducement.

Building credible, peaceful, and transparent elections is a collective responsibility. Together, we can strengthen our democracy and secure a better future for Nigeria.

Today in Ado-Ekiti, I joined in commissioning the new EFCC Zonal Directorate—another step in strengthening our institutional capacity and bringing the fight against corruption closer to the people.

This facility reflects our shared commitment to deepen reforms, improve efficiency, and ensure that no part of Nigeria is left behind in the anti-corruption drive.

As I always say, the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility. With stronger infrastructure, stronger collaboration, and stronger resolve, we will continue to make progress.

Yesterday, I received the management team of Guinness Nigeria Plc and emphasized the importance of regulatory compliance, transparency, and responsible corporate conduct.

Sustainable business growth is built on integrity. It is always cheaper to comply with the law than to bear the cost of non-compliance.

I also commend Guinness Nigeria for its commitment to corporate social responsibility and its continued confidence in the Nigerian economy after 76 years of operation.

Some days ago, I met with leaders in Nigeria’s fintech industry to strengthen collaboration in safeguarding our digital financial space against fraud, money laundering, and terrorism financing.

Innovation must go hand in hand with responsibility. As fintech continues to expand financial inclusion and economic opportunities, we must also ensure that criminal elements do not exploit these platforms.
