Ladies and gentlemen,

Today, we gather to honor and pay tribute to the brave men and women of our armed forces. On this Armed Forces Day, we come together to express our deep gratitude and appreciation for their unwavering commitment to protecting our nation and upholding the values we hold dear.

The sacrifices made by our military personnel, both past and present, cannot be overstated. They have answered the call to serve, often in the face of great danger and adversity, and have demonstrated unparalleled courage and dedication to their duty. Their selfless actions ensure the safety and security of our country and its citizens, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Armed Forces Day is a time for us to reflect on the profound impact of our military's service and to recognize the sacrifices made by their families as well. We must never forget the tremendous burden they bear and the challenges they endure in support of their loved ones who serve.

As we celebrate Armed Forces Day, let us also reaffirm our commitment to providing our service members with the support and resources they need, both during their time in uniform and as they transition back to civilian life. It is our duty to ensure that they receive the care, respect, and opportunities they deserve.

To all the members of our armed forces, I say thank you. Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication to our nation. Your service is a testament to the highest ideals of duty, honor, and patriotism, and we are forever indebted to you.

On this day, and every day, let us honor and support our armed forces, and let us never forget the debt of gratitude we owe to those who serve.

Thank you...

REALITY OF LIFE

By reaching this stage in life, the lion can no longer hunt, kill or defend itself.

It roars and roars until it weakens, then it will be surrounded by the Hyenas, nibbled and devoured.

They won't even let him die to be dismembered.

Life is short, what happens to the lion also happens to us humans.

We won't be young forever.
We won't always be the strongest.
We won't always be on top.
We won't always be the boss.
We won't always be the king of the jungle or king of life.

As long as God and life gives us opportunities, let's be humble, remove arrogance and mistreatment.

Because sooner or later, life will pass us a bill and we will reap just what we sow.

This is not a joke.

DANGERS OF WEARING A WAIST TRAINER...

When you squeeze into a waist trainer, your stomach, lungs, liver, kidney and other organs are pushed into unnatural positions and may be too crowded to function well. It can also crack your ribs. Your digestive system is also affected giving you acid reflux (heartburn).

Your organs are also pushed upward, reducing lung capacity, depriving your body of oxygen and making breathing difficult. A restricted lymphatic system may also occur, so waste and toxins may not be properly removed from your body. A waist trainer can also put extreme pressure on nerves that run into the thighs.

Waist training is just another get - thin - quick scheme that only works temporarily for that dinner date or event. The risks outweighs the few hours of physical changes. You CANNOT achieve a permanent hourglass frame wearing a waist trainer but you can achieve a slimmer waistline with CONSISTENT exercise and calorie restrictive diets.

Pls ladies lets be guided🙏🙏🙏

WHO IS A CHAPLAIN

I have personally come to the knowledge of the fact that 98% of the chaplains in Nigeria and African don't know what chaplaincy is all about. Many claimed chaplains are Military, some said we are paramilitary, others said we are combatant. All these are not correct.

Chaplaincy is not military, paramilitary or combatant. As a result of this wrong ideology, chaplain organizations are now copying the military, claiming staff in public bus, causing problems in the society, abusing the uniform, bastardizing the rank/title, no evidence of any public service that we are rendering to the society, no corporate social responsibility, no assignment.

How come a priest (someone acorn to be a man of God) wearing uniform all about without aims. How can we defend the uniform we are wearing?

What is the purpose?

What good have we done to the nation with our uniform?

What is the excess of our rank?

Do we really need uniform to perform chaplain duties?

Since over 40 years of chaplaincy existence-How far have we gone?

How come chaplaincy is the only profession that we have self-made General? No professional conduct, no vision, no purpose and no value.

If chaplains are indeed a priest, are we performing priesthood duties or impersonating the military/paramilitary. I am disappointed that all we know about chaplaincy is parade. The early chaplain dated back to the inception of chaplaincy does not use uniform, or rank, and they perform extremely well. The major reason why people join chaplain now is the uniform and rank. I am shock that many even sell rank and some are so foolish to buy rank that you cannot use to execute or achieve anything.

CHAPLAINS ARE NOT MILITARY.

MILITARY: -

The first recorded use of the word military in English, spelled militarie, was in 1585, it comes from the latin militaris (from latin miles meaning “soldier”) but is of uncertain etymology, one suggestion being derived from mil-it- going in body or mass. It denote someone that is skilled in use of weapons, or engaged in military service or in warfare. Another definition of military is, an organized body primarily tasked with preparing for and conducting war. It consist of Army, Navy and Airforce. They are forces authorized to use deadly force and weapons to support the interests of the state and some or all of its citizens.

PARAMILITARY: -

This is a semi-militarized force whose organizational structure, tactics, training, subculture and (often) function are similar to those of professional military, but which is not included as part of a states formal armed forces.
Going by the above two definition, Chaplain is not a Military OR Paramilitary.

OFFICER: -

The word dates back to the kindof English spoken in the middle ages, it derived from the middle latin word officarius and was first used in military context in 1565, it takes root from OFFICE. A word which was first documented around 1250 and was derived from the classical word officium meaning “Service”, “Duty”, “function”.

Since CHAPLAINCY is a profession and a service provider, it will have been good to say Chaplain Personnel is an officer and not claiming paramilitary.

The Geneva convention specifies according to (protocol 1, 8 June 1977, Art 43.2) stated that Chaplain is non-combatants, therefore a chaplain must not carry arms.

CHAPLAIN is a clergy man attach to a certain formation (Hospital, school, prison, home, sport club, association, military, paramilitary, corporation, corporate organization, government parastatals, State house, etc) to cater for their moral, ethical, spiritual and religious need of the formation.

Chaplains are not military but are attached to the military to cater for their moral, spiritual and religious needs. That they are not military doesn't mean they don't have any authority. Even the military and the para-military respects them.

Now that you have understand who you are, It is time for us to rise to the call.
Chaplaincy is a profession, a career and a service provider.

IT IS TIME TO PROFESSIONALISE CHAPLAINCY.

I am for all and not against anyone. TOGETHER we can make it work.

This is the first Executive Secretary General of CECA of our Great IIPEC. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.

Gen Y Y Kure as is popularly called by Nigerians, is dead. He gained prominence since his formative years in the military and Armed Forces of Nigeria .

He was born into the Royal family of Mallam and Mallama Ladi Kure on 16 April 1943 in Kurmin Musa, Kachia LGA, Kaduna State. He attended Missionary Schools in Kwoi and Kagoro for elementary education before gaining admission into Govt Secondary School Zaria popularly known as Alhuda Huda.
Young Kure enlisted into the Nigerian Army through the prestigious Nigerian Military Training College (now NDA) in 1963 and was commissioned as an officer of AFN in 1964. Since then he had an impressive career profile. Because of his high standards of self control, discipline, regimentation and Soja work he soon became a household name.

His first foray was in Protsea Australia for further Cadet Development Course 1964, Command and Staff College Jaji and numerous local and International officers training culminating in the Strategic College, NIPPS that trained the likes of Gen IBB, his bosom friend.

On Military appointments, he equally had a robust experience. He was CO 5 Infantry Bn 1966, in 1967 he was a Capt and CO 22 Infantry, in 1968 he was a Major and CO Infantry Bn. He became a Lt Col in 1974. Much later in his career, he was GOC 82 Div Enugu 1978-1983 and then GOC 2 Div Ibadan 1985-1987. From here he became a member of the Armed Forces Ruling Council (AFRC)in preparation for hand over to a democratic government in Nigeria. He was also appointed as Minister of Sports in between his military assignments.

He was one of the shining beacons and icons that inspired the youths to join the Military. Gen YY was soft spoken and so humble that he had to be formally introduced at formal and informal functions. He was also humane and a welfarist starting from his clan, community and country. Jaba people in particular and other tribes of Southern Kaduna generally, used to be proud of seeing their industrious son on NTA TV Stations with news on our ‘ole bro during the Gideon Orka’s coup. He concluded that assessment without much ado. Throughout his life, he acknowledged God as his consort in and out. Little wonder he took to evangelism as a give back to what our Lord has given us.

We wish him a seamless transition to eternal rest and providence for his family.

Keep resting General...
