Do not confuse the eloquent motivational dā'ee on the mimbar and social media platforms with the & specialists of sciences in this .
Both are needed (and a scholar can also fall into the first category) but we must understand their roles & responsibilities.
The first galvanizes & inspires their listeners in drawing closer to . Callers utilize the already available research to focus on providing what is needed for the heart/Imān & the basics of the Deen. However, that does not mean that they are automatically well-versed in , & issues. One should not seek their opinions on such topics if they are not trained in those respective fields.
Scholars & specialists sacrifice years/decades of traveling, , attending classes, reading, understanding, , debating with colleagues, researching, writing, and teaching various issues of . They forfeit normal delights of this - for the sake of Allah - in order to seek knowledge & uplift ignorance from themselves and the . Not only have they mastered both the basics & the most reoccurring issues, but they've also grasped those prerequisites needed in order to properly comprehend & judge between knowledge-based topics. Additionally, they even study those indepth and sometimes rare matters that may only occur once or twice in a person's life (or maybe never)! It is their responsibility to know those details & be able to issue the correct guidance at the appropriate times. There's much more that goes on behind scholarship than just simply giving a good lecture/talk.
As laymen, we must understand this discrepancy & avoid placing our callers to Allah in danger by encouraging them to step outside of their capabilities.
At the same time, callers must also be cautious of this major burden. They must not be deceived by their articulate & powerful speeches believing that they have now somehow developed the ability to speak about the detailed sciences of this Deen & offer their opinions.
Allah knows best & with Him is all . I ask Allah to protect us all & grant us clear insight with beneficial knowledge.
