For too long, local governments have been starved of funds and stripped of authority by state governors. The result is that the tier of government closest to the people has become the most powerless.

As President, I will restore genuine autonomy to local governments, ensuring direct allocation of funds and real decision-making power so that development reaches every ward, every village, every community.

“We don’t think along ethnic lines in the SDP. A hungry person in the South West is still hungry. Someone buying petrol at outrageous prices won’t care about regional identity".

President Tinubu and the APC are only interested in sowing ethnic division so they can cling onto power. In the SDP, we care about the issues, not identity. We think about solutions, not sectarianism.
