This week I stood before the Arewa Awareness Summit in Kaduna, a gathering built around one urgent idea: unity against insecurity.
I told them what I believe with everything in me. There is no problem we have in Nigeria that good governance and honest leadership cannot resolve in three years. Not the insecurity that has stolen too many lives. Not the corruption that has drained our common wealth. Not the economic hardship pressing on every household.
These problems have not lingered because they are unsolvable. They have lingered because of poor leadership. The solutions are already known. What Nigeria needs now are leaders ready to deliver them.
I also came with a message the North does not hear often enough. You are not a burden. You are the engine room of this nation's future, and of the Sahel and West Africa. Our population and our resources are not a problem to be managed. With the right leadership, they are our greatest asset.
So to every Nigerian reading this: do not see yourself as powerless. Democracy gives you the authority to choose leaders who will answer your concerns. That power is real, and it is yours.
