Since the inception of Governor Oyebanji's administration, the state government has taken decisive steps to scale up the state's security architecture and enhanced close relationships with community leaders, security personnel and local governments.

On today's edition of S'etigbo, the Chairman of Ajoni LCDA, Prince Michael Ogungbemi, will dissect the various efforts of the state government in tackling insecurity in the area and what the LCDA is doing to complement the state government in enhancing safety of lives and property of the people.

He urged other candidates to also embrace peace .

Aside his humility , the peaceful nature of Governor Oyebanji is one of the qualities that has further endeared him to Ekiti electorate .

Long before now , political observers and analysts have commended Governor Oyebanji’s leadership which has redefined Ekiti politics and transformed the political atmosphere in Ekiti that was once characterized by violence and maiming during electioneering campaigns .

♻️ The office of the fist lady has wide-ranging roles which are tailored towards supporting vulnerable groups across the state.

♻️ The First Lady had established the Widows, Aged and Orphans Hope Initiative, WAOH, initiative to cater for the less privileged, including orphans and widows.

♻️ The fist lady must be appreciated for consistently meeting expectations through impactful interventions such as payment of school fees and empowerment programmes for widows, helping them achieve improved living standards.

♻️ By our records ,the WAOH initiative has supported over 50,000 widows statewide.

♻️ Adire Ekiti Hub was established to train and retrain individuals, particularly unemployed graduates, equipping them with skills for sustainable livelihoods.

♻️ The First Lady has positively impacted lives, including support for food vendors, women in agriculture, market leaders (Iyalojas), and female teachers. She added that over 10,000 market women have benefited from financial support to boost their businesses.

♻️ More than 10,000 students have benefited from educational support programmes, including the distribution of sanitary pads to female students to promote menstrual hygiene and school attendance.

♻️ The“Back to School” initiative of the First Lady has provided children with essential learning materials, ensuring they are well-equipped for their education.

♻️ The First Lady ,Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji has actively engaged in pro bono academic work, delivering lectures in institutions without financial compensation, this reflects her commitment to education.

♻️ The efforts of the Governor’s wife informed the increase in women been appointed to key political positions, enhancing female representation in governance.

♻️ There is a Gender Department dedicated to addressing violence against women and safeguarding their welfare across the state.

♻️ Her Excellency , the First Lady is working diligently to ensure the success of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in all sectors. Ekiti women are strongly rooting for the Governor’s second term as a result of its impactful programmes.

♻️ Plans are in place to sustain these initiatives, particularly those supporting students with school fees, beyond the current administration.

♻️ Governor Biodun Oyebanji has a longstanding record of assisting people even before assuming office, with many beneficiaries continuing to receive support.

♻️ Mr Governor’s key infrastructural achievements such as comprehensive renovation and equipment of General hospitals including health centres, massive road development projects and others have endeared Ekiti people to him.

♻️ Governor Biodun Oyebanji has a clear agenda for women’s inclusion, with a mandate for the Ministry of Women Affairs to ensure their welfare and active participation in governance.

♻️ The Ministry operates through various departments and initiatives aimed at advancing women’s development and empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the state.

♻️ The Ministry enjoys strong collaboration between with the Office of the First Lady in executing and monitoring women-focused programmes and expanding women’s access to government benefits.

♻️ We oversee several welfare departments, including orphanage homes, sexual assault referral centres, transit homes for abused women and girls, correctional centres, and skill acquisition centres.

♻️ Women are being given a conducive environment to participate fully in governance, particularly under the administration’s six-pillar agenda, which captures women under human capital development.

♻️ Government intervention programs for women span across healthcare, education, vocational training, and economic empowerment across the state.

♻️ Governor Oyebanji’s led administration has strengthened the protection of the girl-child, ensuring their rights are upheld and providing the necessary support for them to achieve their aspirations.

♻️ Ekiti State currently records the highest representations of women in both appointed and elected positions, reflecting the administration’s recognition of women’s importance in society . Women have benefited from empowerment and employment opportunities, enabling them to contribute economically to their households.

♻️ We must appreciate the First Lady for establishing an NGO called WAOH, which supports widows, elderly women, orphans, and other vulnerable groups. Her Excellency also established an Adire hub which offers free training and also empowers women towards economic independence.

♻️ Efforts to combat Gender-Based Violence are being strengthened through collaboration between the Ministry, the Office of the First Lady, and stakeholders such as the police, Ministry of Health, traditional rulers, and other relevant NGOs.

♻️ I urge Ekiti women to continue to support and pray for the Governor and Her Excellency, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji even as we prepare for another election. Every Ekiti woman of voting age has been encouraged enough by the performance of Governor Oyebanji to want to vote of including backing his potential second-term bid.

♻️Efforts to combat Gender-Based Violence are being strengthened through collaboration between the Ministry, the Office of the First Lady, and stakeholders such as the police, Ministry of Health, traditional rulers, and NGOs.
