EKITI STATE OHANEZE NDI IGBO HONOURS PAST EXECUTIVES FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE

Ekiti State Ohaneze Ndi Igbo has recognized and honoured its past State Executive members for their outstanding and meritorious service to the organization during their respective tenures.

The award ceremony featured the presentation of Certificates of Recognition to deserving past executives in appreciation of their commitment, dedication, and contributions to the growth and development of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in Ekiti State.

While presenting the certificates, the Vice President, Mr. Chris Umunnakwe, commended the former executives for their selfless service and urged them to continue supporting the activities and programmes of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo.

He emphasized the need for sustained commitment towards promoting the unity, welfare, and cultural heritage of the Igbo people in Ekiti State.

Among those honoured was the former President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Ekiti State, High Chief Dr. Nathaniel Uzoma, who was recognized for his exemplary leadership and meritorious service during his tenure. Several other past executive members also received the certificate of recognition of their invaluable contributions to the organization.

The event served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of past leaders while encouraging continued participation in the affairs and advancement of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo.

BUNDLE OF JOY AFTER 14 YEARS

After 14 years of waiting, the Lord graciously visited the family of Evang Damian Ugwueke, the Secretary of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Oye Local Government Area, Ekiti State, with a bundle of joy.

The entire congregation of St. John’s Catholic Church, Ilupeju-Ekiti, was filled with celebration and thanksgiving as members of the church, family, friends, and well-wishers gathered in large numbers to rejoice with Evang Damian Ugwueke and his family for God’s faithfulness.

The child dedication ceremony was greatly attended by members of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Ekiti State. Also present at the occasion was the President General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ekiti State and President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo South West, High Chief Sir Alex Ndubuisi. The Youth President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ekiti State, Mr. Ifeanyi Okon, was also in attendance, alongside the Chairman of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Oye Ekiti, Chief Ugwu.

It was indeed a joyful and memorable occasion filled with gratitude, celebration, and praises to God for His goodness and faithfulness.

OHANEZE NDI IGBO EKITI STATE CHAPTER INAUGURATES WOMEN WING

The Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ekiti State Chapter, under the able leadership of High Chief Sir Alex Ndubuisi, has successfully inaugurated its Women Wing following a peaceful and well-conducted election.

The inauguration ceremony was carried out by the Legal Adviser of the organization, Sir Ambrose Anyanwu, who also supervised the administration of the oath of office.

The newly elected Women Wing executives, led by Lady Mrs. Ndubuisi, formally accepted their responsibilities and pledged, through their oath, to serve diligently, without fear or prejudice, in the interest of unity and progress of the association.

The event marked a significant step towards strengthening inclusiveness and active participation of women in the affairs of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in Ekiti State.

OHANEZE NDI IGBO EKITI STATE APPOINTS CHAIRMAN FOR IGBO DAY CELEBRATION PLANNING COMMITTEE

The President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Ekiti State Chapter, has officially appointed Sir Celestine Ejike as the Chairman of the Igbo Day Celebration Planning Committee.

Also appointed to serve on the committee are Chief Oliver Eziokwu and Mr. Emmanuel Onwusoro, who will function as the Secretary of the Central Committee.
Igbo Day, a remarkable cultural event celebrated every four years, brings together Ndi Igbo to promote unity, celebrate heritage, and strengthen communal bonds.
While inaugurating the committee, the President charged members to leverage their wealth of experience, competence, and available opportunities to ensure the successful planning and ex*****on of the forthcoming celebration.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Central Committee expressed profound appreciation to the President and members of the State Executive Council for the confidence reposed in them.

He further called on all members of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in Ekiti State to remain united, committed, and supportive throughout the planning process to guarantee a successful and memorable event.

*OHANEZE NDIGBO EKITI STATE OBSERVES NATIONAL PRAYER DAY*

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ekiti State on Saturday, January 31, 2026, joined Igbo communities across Nigeria and the Diaspora to observe the National Prayer Day, in line with the declaration of the National Executive Council (NEC) of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

The prayer session, which was well attended, was coordinated by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ekiti State under the able leadership of High Chief Sir Alex Ndubisi, who championed the mobilization of Igbo communities resident in Ekiti State for the solemn observance.

Speaking during the programme, High Chief Ndubisi described the National Prayer Day as a moment of collective gratitude to God for His enduring mercies and unwavering grace upon the Igbo nation, despite the numerous challenges faced over the decades.

He emphasized the importance of spiritual reflection, unity, and faith as key pillars for the progress and survival of Ndi Igbo both at home and in the Diaspora.

The prayer session reflected deeply on God’s faithfulness to the Igbo people in Ekiti State, Nigeria, and across the world.

It also served as a spiritual platform for strengthening unity, reinforcing collective identity, and fostering peaceful coexistence among Ndi Igbo.

The prayer was led by Reverend Father Francis Oforegbu C.M.F, the Parish Priest of Blessed Michael Iwene Tansi Igbo Catholic Church, Oke-Ila, Ado-Ekiti, the Catholic Diocese of Ado Ekiti who offered prayers for peace, progress, unity, and prosperity of the Igbo nation and the host community. The event was graced by the presence of Igbo men and women of goodwill, community leaders, and faithful who gathered in one accord to seek divine guidance and blessings.

The National Prayer Day concluded on a note of renewed hope, faith, and commitment to the unity and development of Ndi Igbo in Ekiti State and beyond.
