The Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning, and Chairman of the CARES Steering committee Mr SONNY Ekedayen recently distributed agricultural inputs to beneficiaries under the D-CARES Programme Results Area 2 - Fadama.

This initiative aligns with the creation of opportunity for all under MORE Agenda of the State government. The effort also demonstrates government's commitment to strengthening food security across the state.

The occasion saw 70 farmers across cassava, fish, poultry and pepper production receive critical inputs to enhance their production.
In a vote of thanks, community leader HRM Amos Amanana - owei expressed deep appreciation to the State Government for extending this impactful programme to their community. He prayed for continued progress and further developmental initiatives, assuring that the beneficiaries would make effective use of the support to improve their lives and livelihoods

The DCARES programme through the Fadama Office on Tuesday 19th August 2025 distributed agricultural inputs to 70 beneficiary farmers in Oshimili FCA, Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area.

The beneficiaries comprised:
50 poultry farmers who each received 7 bags of poultry feeds, 50 broiler Day-Old Chicks (DOC), and medicaments.

20 aquaculture (fish) farmers who each received 200 catfish juveniles, 7 bags of fish feeds,and medicaments.

This intervention geared towards increasing food security and improving livelihoods for all Deltans. This is in continuation of the 5th tranche of agricultural inputs distribution under the DCARES programme and aligns with the MORE Agenda of the Delta State government.
