CORONAVIRUS: ASUAI URGES DELTANS TO BE MORE VIGILANT, OBEY SIT AT HOME ORDER

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ossissa ward one, Ndokwa east local government area of Delta state, Honourable Chuks Asuai, has urged Deltans to take greater preventive measures against the coronavirus in view of the index case recently confirmed in the state by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control.

Asuai in a statement he issued in Asaba, said the situation called for greater vigilance to avoid contact with returnees from foreign countries or sick persons, stressing that the rule on social distancing must be strictly obeyed to prevent the spread of the virus.

He commended the Okowa administration for fighting COVID - 19 from different fronts, noting that the aggressive sensitization and awareness campaigns mounted by government went a long way in curtailing the spread of the disease in the state.

The PDP faithful also commended the state government for setting up a Food Bank to cushion the effect of the lockdown in the state on the economically weak, and advised that the food items be distributed across party lines in order to give every Deltan a sense of belonging at this critical time in history.

Asuai, who is the founder of Delta Grassroots Network (DGN) expressed optimism that the COVID - 19 pandemic would soon be brought under control and urged the people to pray fervently for God's intervention in the worrisome situation.

CHUKS ASUAI COMMENDS OKOWA FOR 2020 BUDGET

The 2020 budget proposal recently presented to the State House of Assembly by the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has been described as a catalyst for the attainment of the Stronger Delta vision.

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ossissa ward one, Ndokwa east local government area, Honourable Chuks Asuai, made the assertion in a statement in Asaba.

Honourable Asuai noted that the budget provided for all the sectors relevant to the Stronger Delta vision, adding that the allocation of N84bn to road development would give effect to government's plan to link all the communities in the state by road to ensure accelerated development.

He said the proposed establishment of 19 more Technical Colleges was an indication that the Okowa administration believed in equity, stressing that the move would further boost the entrepreneurship development programme of the state government.

The PDP faithful commended a party leader in Ndokwa east, Chief Godswill Obielum, for mentoring and encouraging up coming politicians in the area, and urged the youth to support him.

DPV Ndokwa East Chapter,Chief Emmanuel Onyeukwu who is the coordinator has felicitated with Ndokwa East Political leader and former gubernatorial hopeful, Chief Godwill Obielum on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a pragmatic leader and a remarkable man of peace and extraordinary Ndokwa man.
