On February 23, 2026 I fulfilled a promise made during my recent visit to the Federal College of Education (Technical) Asaba with the donation of six air conditioners to the institution.

For me, leadership is not merely ceremonial — it is a responsibility. When a promise is made, it must be honoured.

Some may wonder why a community should donate such equipment to a federal institution. I do not see it from that perspective. Any institution within Asaba Kingdom forms part of our collective ecosystem. Our sons and daughters work there, learn there, and build their livelihoods there. It is therefore my duty to ensure that such institutions function efficiently and at optimal capacity.

Beyond this gesture, I have also informed the Provost, Chief Prof. Anene Okeakwa (Omeogor Ahaba), that the Asaba Community will be donating 50 solar-powered street lights to enhance security within the campus and its environs.

Furthermore, in the coming weeks, Asaba Community will be donating two dialysis machines to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba and the Asaba Specialist Hospital, respectively — in support of improved healthcare delivery for our people.

Development is a shared obligation. Service is a sacred trust.

We will continue to act where action is required.

On February 23, 2026 | Ogwa Uku Ahaba, Asaba
I had the honour of receiving the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed mni, FCA, and his distinguished management team at the Palace, where I was formally invested and decorated as an Honorary Special Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

I accept this investiture not merely as a title, but as a call to service.
The Corps Marshal rightly noted that this honour is reserved for individuals of proven integrity and dedication to public service. I am grateful for this recognition and receive it on behalf of the good people of Asaba Kingdom.

Our roads remain challenging, and the mandate of the FRSC is both tasking and daunting. Yet, their sacrifices in safeguarding lives and promoting responsible road use are worthy of admiration and sustained support. Safety, indeed, is everyone’s responsibility.

I assured the Corps of my unwavering commitment to champion road safety advocacy within my Kingdom. This badge will not hang idly in the Palace—it symbolizes active partnership, civic responsibility, and collaborative nation-building.

I commend the Corps Marshal for his visionary leadership and deliberate engagement with traditional institutions to strengthen compliance, discipline, and public trust. May this partnership continue to yield enduring benefits for Asaba, Delta State, and Nigeria at large.

May our roads be safer.
May our institutions grow stronger.
May service to humanity remain our guiding principle.

Happy Birthday to My Beloved Queen, Agu Nwanyi, Mrs. Valerie Azinge, SAN, OFR.

As I mark one year on the throne of my forebears, my heart turns first to you.
This past year has been historic — a year of duty, transition, responsibility, and purpose. Through it all, you have stood beside me with quiet strength, uncommon grace, and unwavering loyalty. You have not merely walked with me — you have steadied me.

You are the strength behind the throne.
The wisdom in moments of reflection.
The calm in seasons of weighty decisions.
Your dignity, intellect, and compassion continue to define what it means to be Queen — not just in title, but in character.

Today, as we celebrate your birthday, I celebrate more than the gift of your life. I celebrate your partnership in this sacred journey of leadership and service to Asaba Kingdom.
The throne is ancient. The responsibility is great. But the burden is lighter because you are by my side.

May this new year of your life bring you divine strength, radiant health, enduring joy, and the fulfilment of every noble desire of your heart. May history remember you not only as Queen, but as a pillar of this era.
Happy Birthday, my Queen.
My Agu Nwanyi.

My steadfast companion in destiny. 👑✨

I received His Excellency Mr. Peter Gregory Obi and his entourage at the Palace.

Mr. Obi has been a long-standing family friend and brother for over three decades, and it was a pleasure to welcome him home to Asaba. I appreciate him for finding time, despite his demanding schedule, to pay this visit. It is a gesture of friendship, respect, and honour to the throne and to the people of Asaba.

I have always known him as a man of integrity, and I hold the firm view that wherever he is called to serve, he will offer thoughtful and responsible leadership.

He, in turn, expressed his respect for the throne and his support for our efforts to advance peace, development, and unity in Asaba Kingdom.

May friendship, mutual respect, and goodwill continue to guide our shared journey in service to our people and our nation.

I had the honour of a meaningful engagement with Hannatu Musa Musawa, Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, where we explored strategic collaboration on heritage preservation, creative storytelling, and tourism development for Asaba Kingdom.

I was pleased that the Federal Ministry has endorsed the Asaba Day Celebration, recognising its significance as a platform to showcase our culture, creativity, and identity to Nigeria and the world. I shared the rich history of Asaba, our monuments, and our pride as a UNESCO-recognised Creative City for Film and a growing tourism destination.

We discussed the importance of empowering Asaba’s artists and storytellers to project our heritage globally, a vision we began advancing during the Asaba Day cultural exhibition in December 2025. I reaffirmed that Asaba is the fastest-growing state capital in Africa south of the Sahara, with immense cultural and economic potential.

I was encouraged by the Honourable Minister’s commitment to partner with Asaba, elevate our culture across fashion, arts, and heritage, and bring a Federal Government delegation to Asaba Day to further globalise the celebration.

Our traditions are not relics of the past they are assets for the future. I look forward to welcoming the Honourable Minister to Asaba to translate this shared vision into enduring institutions, global recognition, and opportunities for our people.

Yesterday, I had the honour of engaging with Mr. Charles Odii, Director-General of SMEDAN, during a courtesy visit to the Agency alongside members of my palace council. I was impressed by the enterprise facilities and the scalable models that can be adapted for Asaba Kingdom.

Mr. Odii described our engagement as a meeting of heritage and modern leadership, and affirmed that SMEDAN’s ongoing and upcoming initiatives in Asaba will align with our shared vision of job creation, poverty alleviation, and sustainable livelihoods for our people.

At the start of this year, I committed to pursuing opportunities to create at least 1,000 jobs for Asaba youths. With a youthful population of nearly 70%, economic empowerment is not optional it is essential to building a secure, progressive, and prosperous kingdom.

We explored collaboration in SME financing, mentorship, enterprise development, and capacity building, and I assured SMEDAN of our readiness to provide land and institutional support to fast-track this partnership.

I am encouraged by this dialogue. Together, we will translate vision into impact and opportunity into reality for the sons and daughters of Asaba.

In furtherance of our commitment to peace, security, and social wellbeing in Asaba Kingdom, I received and witnessed two significant community-driven interventions this month.

On January 6, 2026, I received a delegation of ASDEV 81 Club, UK Chapter, led by Ogbueshi Chidozie Okonkwo, who generously donated a Sienna space bus to support the Asaba Drugs Rehabilitation Centre. I deeply appreciate this noble gesture and directed that the vehicle be branded to reflect their contribution, as a testament and encouragement to other clubs and associations to emulate such solidarity. Their support for security reforms and rehabilitation efforts is a powerful statement of communal responsibility.

On January 23, 2026, the Asaba Security Trust Fund Committee, led by Chief Philips Ejike Nwokolo (Akudo Ahaba), donated four motorcycles to the Asaba Community Vigilante (ACV) to enhance rapid response and patrol capacity. I commended the committee for their swift action and charged the vigilante group, under the leadership of Ogbueshi Nnamdi Chukwuedo, to deploy and maintain these assets with diligence and professionalism.

I am grateful to all sons and daughters of Asaba, at home and in the diaspora, whose contributions continue to strengthen our security architecture, social services, and collective future. Together, we are building a safer, healthier, and more progressive Asaba.

On January 16, 2026, I graced the commissioning of the 2nd Niger Bridge CCTV Monitoring Centre, a critical security and infrastructure milestone along the Asaba–Onitsha axis.

This project is yet another commendable stride by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following closely on the recent groundbreaking of the Section 2A access road to the 2nd Niger Bridge. The installation of this CCTV security system will significantly enhance safety, deter vandalism, curb criminality, and strengthen public confidence in the protection of our national infrastructure.

On behalf of the good people of Asaba Kingdom, I expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for the ongoing rehabilitation of failed portions of the Asaba–Benin Expressway, which had long posed serious challenges to road users and internal traffic within our city.

I also commend Engr. David Umahi, Honourable Minister of Works, for his clarity of purpose, courage, and capacity in office. His commitment to durable infrastructure — including reinforced concrete road rehabilitation and decisive policies to protect our bridges — reflects a leadership focused on longevity, safety, and national development.

Asaba remains appreciative, hopeful, and supportive of initiatives that strengthen security, infrastructure, and public trust. I am confident that, before the end of this administration, many more meaningful interventions will be delivered for the benefit of our people and our nation.

May God bless Asaba Kingdom.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Two days ago at Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba, I received members of Otu Ihaza–Ahaba (2016–2026) and took time to commend them for their steadfast commitment to the customs, traditions, and governance of our great Kingdom.

Their courage and resilience, especially in moments of loss, reflect the strength of the structures handed down to us by our forebears. I remain grateful to those visionaries whose wisdom ensured that leadership transitions in Asaba continue seamlessly from one generation to another.

We engaged openly on matters affecting our Kingdom from cultural inclusion to the progress of the Permanent Palace Project. I reaffirmed my commitment to seeing these projects advance responsibly and transparently, with the collective interest of Asaba always at heart.

I also restated my firm belief in inclusive leadership. Our women title holders, particularly Olinzele Ahaba, bring depth, experience, and insight that are essential to our progress. Asaba will continue to grow when all her sons and daughters contribute in unity and purpose.

As we move forward in this new year, I urge us all to remain guided by truth, sincerity, and devotion to the peace and development of our land. The journey continues together.
