PUBLIC NOTICE ON UNAPPROVED LAYOUTS AND ESTATES IN ANAMBRA STATE - 24TH JULY, 2026.

We refer to our publications with reference to MLS/TP/631/2021/76 dated 31st July, 2025, and hereby state that the following Layouts/Estates underlisted are illegal and at such have not been approved by the State Government.

Consequently, members of the public are advised in their best interest, to refrain from any dealings with owners of the said unapproved and illegal Layouts/Estates and to contact the Ministry of Lands before any Land transactions in the State. Owners of the aforesaid unapproved layouts/Estates are advised to commence the registration/approval process in their interest. The Ministry in conjunction with the relevant Development Control Agencies, will commence demolition action(s) on developments at the unapproved layouts/ Estates in the State.

Commissioner For Lands, Prof. Amucheazi Tasks Nigerian Institution Of Surveyors On Sustaining Professionalism.

The Commissioner for Lands in Anambra State, Prof. Offornze D**e Amucheazi (SAN), has tasked members of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) on sustaining the professionalism for which the Institution is known for in the discharge of their duties.

Prof. Amucheazi made the remark when he received, on courtesy visit, members of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Anambra State Branch in his office.

The Commissioner while commending the Institution for the well-regulated nature of the profession called for stricter disciplinary measures against erring members to protect the integrity of the Institution.

Prof. Amucheazi also harped on working collaboration between the Ministry and the Institution in driving the mandate of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, for an effective and efficient land administration system in the State.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Institution in Anambra State, Surv. Gabriel Okeke commended the Commissioner for his transformational leadership and promised supporting the Ministry in achieving its mandate in the State.

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of Congratulatory Plaque by the Chairman of NIS to Prof. Amucheazi, congratulating him on his well-deserved re-appointment as the Commissioner for Lands, Anambra State.

Anambra Lands Commissioner, Prof. Amucheazi Pledges Stronger Collaboration With Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, And Other Relevant Stakeholders For A Liveable Homeland.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Offornze D**e Amucheazi (SAN) has called for stronger synergy between Ministry of Lands, and the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP).

The Commissioner made the call when he received a delegation from the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners,(NITP), Anambra State Chapter on a courtesy visit in his office.

According to Prof. Amucheazi, Town Planners have critical roles to play in actualizing the vision and mandate of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, for a liveable, prosperous and smart homeland, particularly in the development of the New Niger City, Anambra Mixed-Used Industrial City (AMIC), Awka 2.0 and the regeneration of the old Awka city among others.

Earlier in a remark, the Chairman of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Anambra State Chapter, TPL. Igwilo Ifeanyi commended the Commissioner for the existing cordial relationship between the Ministry and the Institute as well as the transparency with which he has been piloting the affairs of the Ministry.

The Chairman affirmed the commitment of NITP towards supporting the Ministry in achieving effective and efficient land administration system in the State.

Anambra State Ministry of Lands holds July edition of Staff Monthly General Meeting.

Commissioner for Lands, Anambra State Prof. Offornze D**e Amucheazi (SAN) has charged staff of the ministry to continue putting in their best in the discharge of their duties.

The Commissioner gave the charge during the July edition of Staff Monthly General Meeting of the ministry.

Prof. Amucheazi while calling on the staff to remain uncompromising, commended them for their unwavering commitment in delivering on the vision and mandate of Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led government on land administration in the State.

The meeting had in attendance the Permanent Secretary, Lands, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, Esq. among other members of the management team.

Anambra Commissioner For Lands, Prof. Amucheazi Reaffirms Government's Commitment To Transforming Awka Into A Modern And Investment-Friendly Capital City.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Lands Prof. Offornze D**e Amucheazi, SAN has reaffirmed the commitment of the Anambra State Government under Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR to transforming Awka Capital Territory into a modern and investment-friendly capital city.

Prof. Amucheazi also stated that efforts are being intensified through numerous reforms such as the launch of Anambra Geographic Information System (ANAMGIS) by the Soludo administration aimed at sustaining the current effective, and efficient land administration system in the State.

The Commissioner made this known when he received on technical assessment visit, in his office, a delegation from a Spanish conglomerate, ACCIONA Consulting, appointed by African Development Bank as AfDB sets to commence multi-sectoral infrastructure development interventions in Awka Capital Territory under its African Cities Programme.

Prof. Amucheazi noted that the launch of ANAMGIS, a modern Geographic Information System in Nigeria, is in furtherance of Governor Soludo’s audacious drive for a sustainable urban development and regeneration in the State.

He added that the development of the new city of Awka 2.0, a top priority urbanisation drive of Governor Soludo, is part of the administration’s efforts at developing a capital city people can be proud of.

Prof. Amucheazi thanked the group for their commitment to supporting the administration’s urbanisation and regeneration drive in the State.

In her remarks, ACCIONA Urban Planner and Project Leader, Melisa Macceratini, who led the delegation, while acknowledging that all over the world, that government alone cannot fund urbanization and regeneration drive, owing to their expensive nature, pledged their support for Governor Soludo’s urbanization and regeneration efforts in both the old Awka and the new city of Awka 2.0.

The engagement was attended by the Commissioner for Housing, Arc. Henry Arize; MD/CEO ACTDA, Dr Ossy Onuko; Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Investments, Mr Christian Udechukwu; Permanent Secretary, Lands, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, Esq; Ag. Lands, Chineze Obih; Ag. Director Town Planning, Mrs Ifeyinwa Onyeji, the ANAMGIS Project Manager, Mr Jimi, among other critical stakeholders.

Anambra Commissioner For Lands, Prof. Amucheazi Receives Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors And Valuers On Courtesy Visit, Calls For Sustained Integrity And Professionalism.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Offornze D**e Amucheazi (SAN) has called on members of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) to uphold integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

Prof. Amucheazi made the call when he received members of the Anambra State Branch of the Institution during a courtesy visit in his office.

According to the Commissioner, the interest, and mandate of the Ministry, the NIESV, and Anambra State will be best promoted and protected in a working collaboration and environment built on integrity and professionalism.

Prof. Amucheazi further emphasized on the importance of deploying Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in resolving land-related disputes, stating that bringing people to a round table discussion makes way for quicker dispute resolution and everlasting peace than the rigorous courtroom litigations.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to leaving a Ministry of Lands in Anambra State that people will be confident in their services in line with the vision and mandate of Governor Chukwuma Soludo led-administration.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman, Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Anambra State Branch, ESV. Onyebuchi Ndulue who led the delegation, congratulated the Commissioner on his re-appointment.

The Chairman commended the Commissioner for his result-oriented leadership and contributions to the development of the land sector in the State.

While appealing for stronger partnership between the Institution and the Ministry, ESV Ndulue pledged the commitment of NIESV to supporting Governor Soludo-led government’s efforts in ensuring efficient and effective land administration system through professional excellence.

Anambra Lands Commissioner, Prof. Amucheazi Highlights Business-Friendly Solution Administration Land Reforms At PEBEC Workshop In Awka, Anambra State.

Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Offornze D**e Amucheazi (SAN) today joined other panelists at the one day Nationwide Subnational Engagement and Technical Workshop organized by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

Addressing participants, Prof. Amucheazi highlighted ongoing land administration reforms geared towards supporting business-enabling environment in Anambra State.

According the Commissioner, the reforms which aim at ensuring efficient and effective land administration system, are parts of high-points of Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration’s vision of turning the State into a peaceful, livable and prosperous smartmega city.

The workshop which was held at the International Conference Centre, Awka, and had in attendance several participants including the Permanent Secretary, Lands Anambra State, Barr. Nkeiru Mokwe, brainstormed on mechanisms needed to create and sustain business-enabling reforms and investment competitiveness at national and subnational levels in Nigeria.

Anambra State Government Intensifies Efforts At Modernizing Land Administration System In The State.

Anambra State Government says efforts are being intensified to modernize land administration processes in the area.

The Head of Service, Barr. Mrs Ngozi Iwouno stated this during a one day training programme for staff of the Ministry of Lands held in Awka.

The Head of Service remarked that land administration across the world remains a critical pillar of economic growth, social stability, infrastructure development, urban planning, investment promotion and sustainable governance.

She observed that Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR-led administration is intensifying efforts to modernize land administration processes through reforms that promote transparency, accountability, digital transformations, ease of doing business and improved service delivery.

The Head of Service added that the effectiveness of any government land administration system is often a reflection of the strength, transparency and efficiency of its public institutions and charged staff of the ministry to be committed to duty, guided by ethics, accountable in their conducts, responsive to citizens and proactive in service delivery.

In a remark, the Commissioner for Lands, Professor Offornze D**e Amucheazi (SAN) re-stated Governor Soludo's mandate in delivering effective and efficient land administration system where people can feel free and safe to invest in the state.

The Commissioner further stated that plans were on for more capacity trainings and promised to encourage excellence and hard work in the ministry.

In his contribution, the state's Commissioner for Physical Planning, Mr Chijioke Ojukwu urged staff of the Ministry of Lands to see themselves as trustees of state's land and to always uphold due process in the discharge of their duties.

The Permanent Secretary Lands, Barr. Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe explained that the training programme was meant to expose participants to additional knowledge that would help the ministry sustain the milestones already recorded in land administration in the state.

Speaking on the theme, "Institutionalizing Excellence in Land Administration: Building a Culture of Commitment, Ethics and Proactive Service", the guest speaker, Mr Praise Fowowe stated that land administration affects investment, security, family stability, economic development, inheritance, social peace as well as people's health and wellness.

He charged participants to shun negligence, unnecessary delays, abuse of office, sabotage and be more accountable in discharging their duties.

Anambra State Ministry of Lands holds June Monthly Staff General Meeting.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Offornze D**e Amucheazi, (SAN) has called on staff of the ministry to show more commitment in the discharge of their duties.

The Commissioner gave the charge during the June edition of the Ministry’s Monthly Staff General Meeting.

Prof. Amucheazi explained that Ministry of Lands holds a pivotal place in the administration of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR.

The Commissioner pledged to make the ministry’s working environment as conducive as possible for staff to operate at optimal capacity in actualizing Mr Governor’s vision and mandate in land administration service delivery in the state.
