It has been a very busy Easter season for the immediate past commissioner for Power & Water Resources, Engr Sir Julius Chukwuemeka KSC as he continues to identify with friends both in times of celebration & mourning.

Last tuesday, Engr Chukwuemeka was at Awkuzu Ibilibeogada where he joined the Anambra North chairman of NYCN, Hon Comr. Peter Nnekwe to last respect to his father-in-law, Late Chief Peter Onyemaechi Nweke.

On Wednesday, Chukwuemeka joined his community Enugwu-Otu to celebrate Ovala Oganiru of HRH Igwe Emmanuel Igboanugo Ejiofor(Omelora 1 of Enugwu-Otu Aguleri).

Yesterday being Thursday, 'Oku na Mmiri' was at Umuawulu where he joined his friend, High Chief Dr Christopher Ndubuisi(Ikenga Umuawulu) for the blessing and grand opening of St Christopher Catholic Church Enugwu Umuawulu & Rectory built by Ikenga Umuawulu for his community.

Also yesterday, he attended the funeral ceremony of Late Mrs Cordelia Ikejiofor at Adazi Nnukwu where he prayed for the peaceful repose of the dead and to God to grant Ikejiofor family the grace, to bear the loss.

It's worthy of note that the former SUG president of COOU, Engr Sir Paul Okafor who's in the state for Easter celebration, joined the former commissioner to the events.

*Anambra state to partner with Orient petroleum & PARAS Energy for power generation*

The state commissioner for Power & Water Resources, Engr Sir Julius Chukwuemeka KSC has reiterated the ever readiness of Anambra state government to partner with interested investors for power generation.

Chukwuemeka noted this when he played host to the management of Orient Petroleum and that of PARAS Energy who visited, for a collaborative partnership in harnessing the state gas reserve for power generation.

Mr Commissioner noted that the solution governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR through his massive infrastructural interventions, has turned Anambra from a departure lounge to a destination lounge. He also stated that Anambra having domesticated the state's Electricity Act and inauguration of Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission, that the state is ready to partner with investors willing to invest in power generation using the state's natural gas deposit.

Speaking, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Orient Petroleum, Engr Sunny Okoye who commended the state government for their contributions to the power sector, revealed that Anambra state has more than enough gas reserve for power generation.

On his part, the MD of PARAS Energy, Mr Yashwant Kumar said that his company has been providing energy solutions for over 20yrs and expressed the company's readiness to partner with the state and Orient petroleum to secure a reliable & sufficient natural gas.

The gas supply will fuel a power plant to be developed by PARAS Energy while the generated energy will be used to power industrial clusters within the state.

The State Commissioner for Power & Water Resources, Engr Sir Julius Chukwuemeka KSC was the Returning Officer for Ayamelum LG APGA Mayoral primaries that was held yesterday across the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra state.

The accredited delegates, affirmed Hon Mgbechi Emmanuel as the dully elected Ayamelum APGA candidate in the forthcoming Local Government election.

Mr Commissioner congratulated Hon Mgbechi and urged the delegates, party faithfuls & supporters, to work harmoniously in ensuring that APGA comes victorious in the August LG election.

*Anambra State government fulfils promise to Ebuka Obi's Seraphic Psychiatric Hospital**... Donates 500KVA Transformer*

In fulfillment of the promise made by Mr Governor, Prof Charles Soludo CFR to handle the electrification of Seraphic Psychiatric Hospital Aguleri, the state commissioner for Power & Water Resources Engr Julius Chukwuemeka yesterday, led his team to deliver a brand new 500KVA transformer to the hospital.

Speaking, Mr Commissioner noted that apart from delivering the transformer, that he was at the hospital to inspect the ongoing electrification of the area by the Solution government and to make sure the project is delivered in the record time.

Chukwuemeka thanked Governor Soludo for initiating the Public Private Community Partnership(PPCP) model and for also creating enabling environments which has attracted investors and developments across the state.

Recall that Governor Soludo during the commissioning of Seraphic Psychiatric Hospital Aguleri, promised to connect them to national grid via electrification and provision of a 500KVA transformer.

Commissioner Chukwuemeka congratulates Obidigwe on his traditional marriage

In the spirit of brotherliness, the state commissioner for Power & Water Resources, Engr Sir Julius Chukwuemeka KSC, yesterday at Onicha-Ugbo Delta State, witnessed the traditional marriage ceremony of the former House of Representatives member Rt Hon Chinedu Obidigwe and his amiable wife, Lovely Uchechukwu.

Chukwuemeka while congratulating the new couple, described marriage as a wonderful gift from God for the benefit of mankind.

He prayed God to bless the union with every of their heart desires and urged the newly married to always ensue love & peace which he said are the major 'ingredients' for a blessed marriage.

The event attracted who is who in Anambra & Delta States including the representative of Anambra state Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim.

ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT REITERATES MANDATORY STAFF ATTENDANCE ACROSS CIVIL SERVICE

The Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Julius Chukwemeka, has reiterated the directive of the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, mandating all civil servants in the state to report to work consistently on all official working days.

Engr. Chukwemeka emphasized that the practice of staying away from work—particularly on Mondays under the guise of the “sit-at-home” order—must come to an end. He made this declaration during a management meeting with Heads of Departments held at the conference room of the Ministry of Power and Water Resources, Awka.

The Commissioner further disclosed that effective from February 2026, the payment of salaries to civil servants will be based on a pro-rata system, strictly tied to verified attendance and the actual number of days worked.

He warned that no staff member is permitted to write or sign the attendance register on behalf of another staff. Any officer found engaging in such acts will face disciplinary measures, including possible dismissal.

Engr. Chukwemeka stated that any staff member absent from duty on medical grounds must formally notify the Ministry in writing and submit a certified medical report for verification.

He also noted that any staff member who feels unable to comply with these requirements is advised to formally tender a resignation letter.

The Commissioner reminded staff that official resumption time is 8:00 a.m. daily, and that the attendance register will be closed by 9:00 a.m. each day and forwarded to the appropriate authority for necessary action.

The Anambra State Government remains committed to strengthening discipline, accountability, and improved service delivery across the civil service.

Residents of Awka metropolis now enjoy 247 free, clean & portable pipe borne water supply courtesy of Mr Solution, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR.

Recall that before Soludo, Anambra state Water Corporation now Anambra State Urban Water Asset Holdings Corporation has been moribund for almost two decades.

In fulfillment of his campaign promises, Mr Solution as at today, has resuscitated all the water schemes across the state including the renovation of the Corporation's headquarters in Awka.

Pipe borne water is now back in Anambra state.
