Ndị Anaocha,

In 2027, the ten towns of Anaocha reached a clear and collective agreement on the devolution of the Local Government Chairmanship.

That agreement was signed by all ten towns.

One key provision is unmistakable:

👉🏽 The chairmanship tenure is two (2) years.

Neni has taken its turn.

Yet, the current Mayor of Anaocha is insisting on returning.

If that happens it means that other towns will be denied the opportunity to go.

In the spirit of fairness, equity, and respect for collective decisions, agreements must be honoured.

It is now the turn of Akwaeze.

This is not about sentiments or personal interests.

It is about integrity, consistency, and respect for our word.

Agreement is agreement. 🤝😁🤝

IKUKUOMA ATTENDS INEC's CHAIRMAN MEETING WITH STAKEHOLDERS FOR 2025 ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS

The Stellar Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the three days away Saturday 8th November, 2025 Anamabra State Elections, Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, MFR, FNIPR, (Ikukuoma Ndigbo), has attended the INEC''s Chairman meeting for 2025 Anambra State Governorship Elections

The meeting held on Tuesday 4th November, 2025 at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, was a high-powered strategic engagement and interactive session, put together by the INEC's National Chairman to discuss, deliberate and analysed the way forward on how best to conduct the Anambra Off-cycle Elections toward making sure that the elections is successful

Dr. Queen Elizabeth Agwu, the INEC Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner, who did the welcome and opening address, thanked all stakeholders namely, Political Parties Chairmen, Party Candidates and their Deputies, security agencies (Police, DSS, Civil Defense Corp, etc) for obliging the invitation. She also stated that with other state-level INEC officials of their readiness and that Anambra INEC has “done enough” expecting that the exercise will reflect that hard work.

Meanwhile, Ken N. Ukeagu PhD. Supervising National Commissioner for Anambra State, who also doubles as, Chairman, Tender Board Committee, gave a comprehensive break-down of total number of registered voters in Anambra (2,802,790), number of political Wards (326), number of polling units (5720), and number of RACs (141) in Anambra State. Ukeaga said that elections will not hold in two polling units in Nnewi Town.

The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbemtoko who was ably represented by Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Benjamin Okolo, who reaffirmed categorically, that Non-State Actors like Operation Udo-Ga-Achi, Agunaechemba (Aka-odo) etc, has been procribed from participating in the election, and warned that “it is not business as usual for the Police. They will be more professional, neutral, and anyone engaging in violence will be dealt with accordingly.” He called for political tolerance and urged voters to “vote their conscience without fear. or favour”

However, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, the INEC's National Chairman, addressing the stakeholders stated that in an election, INEC as an electoral umpire can not exist in Isolation, hence, the need to work with all stakeholders to ensure free, fair, credible, transparent, inclusive and peaceful and successful elections

Prof. Amupitan, reiterated that INEC has completed training and will deploy 24,000 ad-hoc staff for Anambra’s 5,718 polling units, supported by 6,879 BVAS machines with additional 400 BVAS machines. He emphasised: “This is not about INEC alone; it is about the growth and development of Anambra State. The greatest challenge to democracy and to elections in particular, is indifference. INEC is ready to make a difference. He further urged the people of Anambra to “come out en masse” on election day, to exercise their civic rights and franchise

However, room for contributions, questions, and recommendations were entertained from party leaders, party candidates, observers and various stakeholders, and first person to make his contribution was, Hon. Chief Sir. Basil Ejidike, (Nkwelle Nnabuenyi), APC Anambra State Chairman, pledged the party’s full support to INEC and described the new INEC chairman as “a round peg in a round hole”. He raised concern as regards what happened at the Saturday 16th August, 2025 Anambra-South Senatorial bye-elections, where Non-State Actors were used to harass and intimidate voters thereby causing mayhem.

Hon. Ejidike, equally raised worries about the collation centres domiciled at local government chairmen’s offices, suggesting such arrangements could compromise neutrality. He flagged three recurring threats: collusion at collation venues, vote-buying and inducement, and urged they must be confronted if the election is to be free and fair.

In his remarks, Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, (Ikukuoma Ndigbo), began by welcoming the presence of the INEC national leadership, stating that “We gather today under the theme of stakeholders-meeting to ensure that the will of the people of Ndi-Anambra prevails and respected.” He commended INEC for its outward display of commitment and urged the Commission to “look squarely at the structural imbalances that hinder credible elections in our State. in the past”

Speaking further, Ikukuoma, also raised the issue of vote-buying, alleging that the ruling party in the State, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), deployed inducements in the August 16 bye-election and is planning a far larger scheme for the governorship poll. He also volunteer to provide INEC with contacts, locations and information on all those engaging in vote-buying, and call on INEC to thwart those plans of the state government because only then will this election be credible,” he submitted.

APC SHUTS DOWN ONITSHA
Over 100,000 Party Faithfuls Flood Mega Rally

By Gozie Ugwumba

The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defied expectations on Friday, October 31, 2025, when they stormed Onitsha, the largest commercial hub in Anambra State and Nigeria, for a massive political campaign rally.

The event, held at the expansive All Saints Cathedral grounds, witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with over 100,000 enthusiastic party supporters converging as early as 8 a.m. to welcome the APC hierarchy.

Leading the charge were the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio; Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma; APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; and several other state governors and national officers of the party.

The rally’s success came despite alleged attempts by the Anambra State Government to frustrate the event by denying the party access to both Alex Ekwueme Square and the International Convention Centre in Awka, the state capital.

Until this show of force, the opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) had taunted the APC candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, and his running mate, Uche Ekwunife, as being abandoned by their national leadership. But the impressive presence of top APC figures at the rally not only silenced the critics but also reaffirmed the full backing of the federal party structure for the Ukachukwu–Ekwunife ticket.

Not even the light rain that fell during the event could dampen the spirit of the teeming supporters, who defied the weather to witness what many described as a historic political convergence.

Onitsha, indeed, had not witnessed such a mammoth crowd in a very long time.

On sundry grounds of jurisdiction, the Supreme Court today advised that the Appellant withdraw the three appeals lodged by him. The three appeals are:

The three appeals are:

SC/CV/921/ 2025- Valentino Ozigbo v. APC & Ors.

SC/CV/922/2025- Valentino Ozigbo v. APC & ORS

SC/CV/923- Valentino Ozigbo v. APC & Ors.

The apex court restated the law that matters relating to the eligibility of a candidate or membership are within the domestic affairs of the party, which the court of law does not have jurisdiction. *Soludo’s Government and the Shameful Display of Vote-Buying at COOU*

It is deeply embarrassing — and frankly insulting — what transpired at the so-called “Higher Tertiary Education Stakeholders Meeting” held for staff and lecturers of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Anambra State.

Reports from the university community reveal that the ₦20 million allegedly released by Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo for participants was reduced to ₦4,000 and ₦3,000 stipends for each lecturer and staff member. A gathering that was presented as a stakeholder meeting turned out to be nothing more than a cleverly disguised campaign rally and vote-buying charade.

“It is just laughable and demeaning to share ₦4,000 and ₦3,000 respectively from the ₦20 million given to us by Mr. Governor, considering the total number of participants. We can now see why the money wasn’t shared at the venue,”

one of the aggrieved participants lamented.

It is unfortunate that in a supposed “Solution Government” led by an academic — a professor — intellectuals are now being used as political pawns and treated with financial crumbs in exchange for political loyalty. What could have been a genuine academic engagement degenerated into a transactional political spectacle, where respected scholars were reduced to recipients of handouts.

The follow-up announcement asking participants to report to the University Pay Office with valid identification to receive their “stipend” only confirmed what many already suspected — this was a state-sponsored vote-buying operation thinly veiled as an academic meeting.

ANNOUNCEMENT
All participants of the Higher Tertiary Education Stakeholders Meeting who submitted their names are requested to visit the University Pay Office to meet Mrs. Ijeoma.
Please come along with a valid means of identification.

— Mr. Okelue Collins,
Head, Accreditation Sub-Committee.

The irony is painful. This is a government that came to power preaching morality, competence, and value reorientation — yet under its watch, lecturers are being mobilized, deceived, and underpaid for political appearances.

And to add insult to injury, the supposed “convener,” Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha, stands accused of orchestrating this scheme that exploited her colleagues in the most unacademic way possible.

As one of the participants sarcastically noted:

Congratulations to the convener for using us — professors and staff of COOU — so perfectly. There will be another political dispensation, and we promise to be there for you next time.

This disgraceful incident should not be swept under the carpet. It exposes not only the moral decay in the Soludo administration’s political machinery but also a dangerous trend where public institutions and state funds are weaponized for partisan advantage.

If the governor and his aides truly believe in democracy, transparency, and good governance, they should explain — publicly — how ₦20 million meant for university participants vanished into thin air, leaving each with just a few thousand naira.

Anambra people deserve better. The intellectual community deserves respect, not manipulation. And no amount of deceitful handouts can buy the conscience of men and women who have dedicated their lives to education.

Until such practices are condemned and punished, the state will continue to slide down the slope of political hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy.

NDI ANAMBRA URGED TO REJECT DUPLICITOUS SOLUDO

A few days ago, I watched Soludo on Arise Television during the launch of Athena Center. The conversation was on innovations in electoral technology, Gains, Gaps and the road ahead. In the first place, I frowned at recruiting a man who has perfected the art of electoral fraud to such a discourse. We all are witnesses to his abominable handpicking of his lackeys and bootlickers and imposed them as Local Government Chairmen in an election that can pass for one of the most reprehensible slaps on democracy in Nigeria. The same man unashamedly almost emptied the State treasury in vote buying during a by-election for a Senate seat and House of Assembly seat in a very contemptible manner. Today, elections in Anambra State are now discussed and determined by the amount of money you have to buy votes. This Governor also perfidiously ordered all local government staff to submit photocopies of their voters card through the Local Government service commissioner. In the same vein, all the Principals and teachers in the secondary schools were ordered to do the same or face serious sanctions.

The opinion of a man who is a master of election heist should not be sought in such a conversation.

The other day, during the launch of a book titled "Audacity to Transform", Soludo in his crooked manner claimed that all the communities in Ebonesie, hitherto, occupied by unknown gunmen are now recovered asking the people to return home. Some Orsumoghu youth were engaged to stage manage their newfound freedom and return. What a white lie! I challenge the Governor, if he is not deceitful, to visit Lilu, Mbosi, Orsumoghu, Azia, Isselke and Ubuluisiuzor without his platoons of security convoy. As the November 8 election draws near, I call on Anambra people to reject this duplicitous Governor who thrives in dishonesty and rhetoric and vote for an accomplished entrepreneur, a man of conscience and compassion - Rt. Hon. Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu as Governor, and Madam Projects - Senator Dr. Iyom Uche Ekwunife, as Deputy Governor.
