BASEPA CONDUCTS AUGUST 2026 MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE
BASEPA, has successfully conducted monthly sanitation,the exercise focused on Community Sanitation “Aikin Gyya" at Anguwan Inkil. The Director General, Dr. Mahmud Mohammed Bose, led the management team to inspect the sanitation activities in the area.
As part of the exercise, BASEPA commissioned the newly constructed Waste Collection Centre at Games Village. The facility will serve as a collection point for over three (3) communities including Dutsen Tanshi, Jahun, Games Village and environs.
The project was commissioned on behalf of the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Housing and Environment, by the Permanent Secretary, Alh.Yamai Mohammed.
In his remarks, the Director General, Dr. Mahmud Mohammed Bose expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State, for the construction of the centralized waste collection centre at Games Village.
Dr. Bose stated that the project aligns with the environmental sanitation policy of the present administration, which is aimed at building a cleaner and healthier state.The Games Village site is now officially open and has been put to use. BASEPA also donated wheelbarrows and shovels to Ward Heads to ease the transportation of waste from households. This will improve sanitation across the benefiting communities.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Logistics Support: BASEPA has provided wheelbarrows and shovels to Ward Heads to ease the transportation of waste to the new site.
2. Monitoring: Ward Heads have pledged to monitor their wards and stop all forms of illegal dumping.
3. Sensitization: Ward Heads are to educate residents on the health and environmental hazards of indiscriminate waste disposal.
The Centre will facilitate the proper collection and management of solid waste, while suitable organic waste materials will be processed into organic compost for use on farms.This initiative will contribute significantly to environmental cleanliness, sustainable agriculture, and the protection of public health.
