This evening, as I met again with some of my primary school classmates, so many memories came alive -memories from more than five decades ago, when we were young, carefree and simply living the beautiful days of primary school. Though I have had the privilege of meeting them whenever I return home, every gathering seems to open another page of those cherished years

Time has taken us far from the classrooms and playgrounds of our childhood,but it has never erased the laughter, nicknames, friendships and little moments we shared.

Some memories, it seems, do not grow old; they simply wait quietly in the heart until familiar faces bring them back to life.

Today, I joined our esteemed Royal Father, Alhaji (Dr.) Mustapha Umar Mustapha II, for the Jummah prayer at His Royal Highness’s mosque.

Earlier today, I arrived home to formally flag off our campaign activities ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

In my address, I expressed my profound appreciation to my people for their unwavering support, trust and solidarity over the years. Your steadfast commitment remains a source of strength and inspiration, and I do not take it for granted.

I also conveyed my sincere appreciation to our President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his continued support and commitment to the development of our people and Nigeria at large. In particular, I acknowledged the recently approved Biu–Gombe Dual Highway Project, a significant intervention that will improve connectivity, stimulate economic activities and strengthen opportunities across our communities.

I further appealed to Mr President to give favourable consideration to the Biu–Damaturu Road, which remains a major route connecting our people to Maiduguri and other parts of the region. Its rehabilitation and transformation would bring immense relief and economic benefits to our people.

As we officially commenced our campaign journey towards 2027, I urged my people to remain united and resolute in their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima. At the state level, I called for support for our incoming Governor, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, as well as Senator Ali Ndume and my humble self.

The response from our people was clear, resounding and encouraging.

The journey ahead requires unity, courage and collective commitment. Together, we can achieve more. Together, the journey becomes easier. And together, we will always win.

The Rt. Hon. Muktar Betara Aliyu, OON, has just arrived at the Gombe State Airport alongside members of his entourage and close associates.

The federal lawmaker, who represents the Biu/Bayo/Shani/Kwaya-Kusar Federal Constituency of Borno State, is now set to proceed by road to Biu, Borno State.

His arrival marks the beginning of his journey to Biu, where he is expected to continue with engagements and activities involving his constituents, political associates and the people of his home constituency.
