Crocodiles can be intimidating. 🐊

But every wild animal has a role to play in its ecosystem. The more we understand them, the more we appreciate why they matter.

Nature doesn’t need us to love every animal. It needs us to protect the balance they belong to. 🌿

🐋 YOU CAN'T HEAR IT. BUT YOU CAN SEE ITS STORY. 👀🌊

Meet one of the ocean's most extraordinary deep-diving giants. The s***m whale.

Here’s something that might surprise you:

🔊 Its echolocation clicks are considered the loudest animal sound on Earth.

🧠 It also has the largest brain of any animal, weighing up to about 20 pounds.

🌊 And when it disappears into the deep, it doesn't simply swim blindly. It uses sound and returning echoes to navigate its surroundings and locate prey in the darkness.

But here's the interesting part...

You don't have to go into the deep ocean to encounter its story.

A piece of that story is waiting to be discovered right here at Finima Nature Park. 👀💚

An extraordinary rescue at the park! 🌿🐊

A few weeks ago, this vulnerable Dwarf Crocodile was found bound and tied facing a very uncertain future.

Fortunately, a group of quick-thinking workers from TotalEnergies stepped in. They intercepted the croc, rescued it, and brought it directly to us at the Finima Nature Park.

In the second photo, you can see the joint rescue team alongside our expert park staff preparing the croc for its return to the wild. We are happy to report that it was safely released and is now swimming freely within the protected boundaries of our park.

This successful outcome was only possible because of community vigilance. We want to say a massive THANK YOU to the team from TotalEnergies for their compassion and quick actions in saving this animal!

It takes a village to protect our wildlife. 🤝💚

Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo joined Discover Bonny Group on a guided tour of Finima Nature Park, exploring its rainforest trails and Bio Conservation Hub. 🌿

She encountered remarkable S***m Whale and Fin Whale bones recovered from the Atlantic in 2014 and 2020—a reminder to protect these natural treasures for generations. 💚
