UNICAL Post UTME 2025: All You Need to Know
[New Aspirants, Please Read Carefully]
Good evening, my beautiful ladies and handsome gentlemen! As you already know, most universities conduct the Post-UTME (Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination), often called Aptitude Test, for their prospective students after JAMB-UTME. The University of Calabar (UNICAL) is no exception.
The screening is strictly for candidates who meet or exceed the school’s general cut-off mark. However, please understand this: the general cut-off mark only qualifies you to write the Aptitude Test. It does not guarantee admission; though it’s an important step (Don’t worry, I’ll explain cut-off marks more deeply in due course).
The UNICAL Aptitude Test will be exactly what you make of it. If you treat it like an evil forest, it may become one. But if you approach it with preparation and confidence, it can be a stepping stone to your dreams. Let me be honest; it’s only easy for those who prepare exceptionally well.
By preparation, I mean:
1. Reading the right materials
2. Practicing strategically
3. Praying as if it all depends on God
4. Studying as if it all depends on you
Don’t go dragging A-level textbooks for this test. While UNICAL may occasionally lift one or two questions from advanced materials (especially during PPT format), their questions tend to come from familiar sources. UNICAL questions can be very tricky. What you know now could confuse you in the exam hall. For instance, Biology questions might be twisted in a way that you misunderstand them if you’re not alert. Often, you’ll find three very similar answer options and only one is correct. So you need both intelligence and smartness to pass. This is not the time to guess.
