FROM EMPOWERMENT TO PROSPERITY: HON. JOHNNY’S VISION REWRITES ONNA’S STORY WITH JOY, GROWTH, AND GRATITUDE

TEAM International | 12042026

It was more than a political event. It was a homecoming of hope. The atmosphere in Onna brimmed with joy, laughter, and heartfelt appreciation as Hon. Sunday Johnny’s economic interventions delivered tangible relief and renewed prosperity to his constituents.

On Easter Monday, a day rich with symbolism of love, sacrifice, and renewal, Hon. Johnny, the representative of Onna State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, unveiled a series of empowerment initiatives that did more than distribute aid. They transformed lives, strengthened local enterprises, and signaled a new chapter of inclusive growth.

His interventions were carefully calibrated to meet real community needs. These included new vehicles, minibuses, tricycle trucks, motorcycles, grinding machines, generators, vulcanizing equipment, hairdressing dryers and accessories, alongside hundreds of business and educational grants. Far from token gestures, these actions embodied effective representation and a steadfast commitment to economic resilience.

The impact was immediate and visible:

• Market women now transport goods with ease, overcoming long standing mobility barriers.
• Small business owners have expanded their stock. One beneficiary proudly testified to restocking beverages at wholesale prices thanks to Johnny’s support.
• Hairdressers and barbers now deliver modern and dignified services with upgraded equipment.
• Households enjoy quicker access to grinding machines within walking distance.
• Residents can now book airport rides and be picked up within minutes, a quiet but powerful sign of Onna’s growing connectivity.

Across the constituency, these initiatives have sparked waves of joy and deep gratitude. The ceaseless applause and praise are not merely a celebration of today’s achievements. They are a pledge of continued trust in Hon. Johnny’s vision of lasting prosperity and shared growth for Onna.

JOHNNY AGAIN: WHEN RESULTS START LOOKING LIKE A FESTIVAL (2027)

In the spirit of the Seven C’s as championed by the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, one might begin to wonder if Sunday Udofot Johnny is running a constituency or a full-time empowerment factory.

CLARITY:
The message is now obvious. If you stay in ONNA long enough, something might locate you. From vehicles to generators, from sewing machines to scholarships, empowerment seems to have found a permanent address.

CONCISENESS:
Instead of long speeches, the man brought numbers: 7 vehicles quietly waiting for new owners. 5 buses ready to move more than just passengers, and motorcycles everywhere like a mini traffic reform. And somehow, the list still continues.

COMPLETENESS:
It appears nothing was left behind. If you can sew, there is a machine.
If you can cut hair, there is a kit.
If you can hustle, there is a grant.
If the NEPA disappoints, there is a generator. At this point, even the critics and the naysayers, those who were blessed with complaints, are running out of options.

CORRECTNESS:
Critics came prepared with questions, but the answers arrived as equipment, jobs, and visible projects. It is difficult to argue with a grinding machine that is already grinding.

COURTESY:
In a political space where people shout to be heard, this one seems to be quietly distributing empowerment across gender, age, and ability. Even the physically challenged were not left behind, which was not always the usual script.

CONCRETENESS:
Not promises, but items you can touch. Machines you can switch on.
Vehicles you can drive. Grants you can spend. Numbers that refuse to behave like campaign grammar.

CONSIDERATION:
One begins to suspect that the people were actually considered in these plans. Youths, women, traders, artisans, everyone seems to have a seat at the table of benefits.

THE IRONY
In a system where “we will do” is the common anthem, ONNA is dealing with a different situation: “it has been done.”

As 2027 approaches, the real problem may not be campaign strategy but how to convince people that this level of impact is just ordinary politics.

Johnny again or Johnny continues?

UDOM EMMANUEL MOURNS WITH LINUS NKAN OVER MOTHER-IN-LAW’S DEATH

The immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has commiserated with the Honourable Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Nsikan L. Nkan, over the passing of his mother-in-law, the late Mrs. Rosemary Chris Udofia.

Former Governor Emmanuel, who was represented during the condolence visit by a high-powered delegation, conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Dr. Nkan and the bereaved family, describing the deceased as a woman whose life was marked by service, dignity, and compassion.

The delegation comprised the chairman of ONNA Local Government Area, Hon. Kufre Umoren; the member representing ONNA State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Udofot Johnny; the member representing Etinan State Constituency, Hon. Uduak Ekpo-Ufot; and the immediate past chief protocol officer to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Mr. Edmond Uffang, among other associates.

Speaking on behalf of the former governor, the member representing ONNA State Constituency, Hon. Sunday Johnny, said that the late Mrs. Rosemary Chris Udofia lived an exemplary life devoted to humanity, family, and community development, adding that her memory would remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

They further prayed God to grant Dr. Nsikan Nkan and the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while urging them to take solace in the impactful and fulfilled life she lived.

The late Mrs. Rosemary Chris Udofia, who passed on January 16, 2026, was widely remembered for her contributions to public service and healthcare delivery.

She served as the Former First Lady of Uyo Local Government Area from 2003 to 2007, and was also a trained Nurse/Midwife, former Health Coordinator at Nsit Ubium Health Centre, as well as a retired Assistant Chief Nursing Officer.

IBAN DRAWS LINE WIKES WORDS BACKFIRE

This whole thing started like one of those moments you watch and immediately go, “Ah… this won’t end well.”

So Wike was on live TV, normal political conversation, back and forth. Then it got tense. And instead of just letting it pass, he made that kind of comment — the type you say when you’re annoyed, but forget you’re not in your living room, you’re on national television.
And from there, everything just escalated.

IBAN didn’t shout. They didn’t drag him online. They simply stepped back and said, “Until this is addressed, we’re not showing up.” That’s it. Quiet but firm.
And when you actually look at what they asked for, it’s not even anything extreme.
Just come out clearly and take back what you said.

Apologize.... not just to Seun, but to the entire media space.
Then remind people you respect press freedom and understand your role. Or you stay Banned
That’s all.
No long story. No back and forth.

But here’s where it starts to feel unnecessary. Because this whole situation didn’t need to get this far in the first place. It’s that moment when someone refuses to just pause and say, “Alright, that came out wrong.” Instead, the energy keeps rising, and now something small has turned into a full-blown standoff.

And honestly, that’s how it’s coming across.
Like… why are we doing all this?
You’re in a position of power. People are going to question you. They’re going to push. That’s literally the job of a journalist. If every tough question becomes a personal issue, then what exactly are we doing?
At some point, it stops looking like confidence and starts looking like overreaction.

Now IBAN has drawn their line. No apology, no access.
And that’s not even noise — that’s silence with consequences.
Because imagine holding press briefings and the media you need simply decides not to show up.
That’s where this is heading if nothing changes.

So now it’s really simple.
He can step back, address it properly, and everything moves on.
Or he can keep that same energy… and let it drag longer than it should.
Either way, people are watching this one closely.
And you can already tell — this didn’t have to be this complicated.
No more show for wike. Simple..!
