At the invitation of the Honorable Commissioner for Environment, we convened for a high-level meeting yesterday to review the planned activities for World Environment Day in Enugu State.

The purpose of this meeting was to align our state actions with national directives and to reinforce partnerships amongst MDAs, CSOs, the Private Sector, Academia, and Development Partners geared towards Climate action.

The time to take action is now!

Plastic waste is everywhere! It's littering our streets, clogging our waterways, and blocking drainage pipes, which poses a serious danger if we don't take action now.

Individually, you can start by collecting all the waste your household or business generates, including plastics, bottles, nylons, cans, and tins. Whenever possible, support local recycling companies like Eco-Cyclers. Just keep in mind that we often require large quantities for pickup, and we appreciate your patience.

28 Days to go ‼️

Some of the brightest young Nigerians like are building climate solutions with little or zero support. From Clean energy, Waste-to-wealth, Water innovation and Green agriculture.

Yet, Nigeria loses billions yearly to pollution, flooding, poor waste management, and environmental degradation.

But perhaps the greatest loss is invisible:

Lost potential. Lost innovation. Lost futures. Even diseases and death

What the next gen needs is not pity. They need platforms. Partnerships.
Investment.

NESt 2026 is creating that bridge.

Because the green economy is not just about saving the planet.
It is about creating jobs, wealth, resilience, and national dignity.

A greener Nigeria is possible, if we choose to build it together.

This initiative includes the provision of a climate manual, the establishment of an environmental school club, and the launch of a recycling drop-off scheme by Eco-Cyclers, which will offer incentives to participating schools. We collect plastic waste for recycling, but we would also appreciate it in large quantities due to logistics and operational reasons. However, we are also open if you are willing to drop it off yourself.

The most important thing is to be environmentally conscious of your waste footprints for the sustainable development of our society.
