On Thursday, 4th December, the Ministry sensitized the students of Community Secondary School Edem Ani, Nsukka LGA, Enugu State, on the urgent need to unite and end Digital Violence against Women and Girls.

During the visit, the school principal received simplified copies of the VAPP Law to support continuous awareness and strengthen prevention efforts among both teachers and students.

As part of the ongoing activities, the Permanent Secretary Mrs Nkechi Ewoh continued the advocacy with a media engagement on Monday, 1st December, reinforcing our commitment to raising awareness, amplifying survivors’ voices, and strengthening the fight against GBV in Enugu State.

Together, we stand for protection, justice, and a safer society for women, children, and all vulnerable groups.

The Ministry Speaks Out: No to All Forms of Abuse — Including False Allegations
At the Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development, our mandate is to protect every child and vulnerable person in Enugu State.

Recently, the Ministry handled a sensitive case involving allegations of child abuse within a family.
After a thorough joint investigation with the Nigerian Police Force and the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the claims were found to be unsubstantiated and maliciously motivated.

While we remain deeply committed to safeguarding children, we also condemn in strong terms the act of making false accusations in the guise of seeking justice.
Framing or fabricating abuse cases causes lasting emotional harm to children, destroys families, and undermines real victims who need to be heard.
Abuse in any form — physical, emotional, sexual, or psychological — is unacceptable.
False allegations are also a form of abuse and manipulation.

The Ministry stands firm:
✅ We will continue to protect children with fairness and integrity.
✅ We will ensure justice for the innocent and accountability for the guilty.

This is more than a meeting, I t’s a movement toward a future where gender equality is not a privilege but a right for all.

Human trafficking remains a deeply disturbing reality in our society. one that strips individuals of their freedom, dignity, and basic human rights. As we mark the 2025 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we are reminded that trafficking is not just an isolated crime, but an organised system of exploitation driven by profit and sustained by silence.

This year’s theme, “Human Trafficking is Organised Crime End the Exploitation,” draws urgent attention to the coordinated networks that prey on the vulnerable, especially women, children, and persons in difficult circumstances.

Traffickers exploit desperation, poverty, conflict, and lack of education turning human lives into commodities.

At the forefront of today’s commemoration is the Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, Enugu State, under the leadership of Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih Ngozi Enih who continues to champion child protection, gender justice, and the rehabilitation of survivors.
