A Historic Milestone for Enugu and Nigeria's Aviation Sector

Today marks a significant chapter in Nigeria's aviation history as the Federal Government formally hands over the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), Enugu, to Aero Alliance Ltd. under a 30-year Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Concession Agreement.

This landmark concession signals the beginning of a new era of private-sector investment, modern infrastructure development, upgraded navigational systems, and increased operational efficiency at the airport.

The initiative is expected to attract more international airlines, strengthen regional and global connectivity, and transform AIIA into a world-class international aviation hub serving the South East and beyond.

This achievement also reflects the impact of Governor Peter Mbah's strategic collaboration with the Federal Government and his unwavering commitment to positioning Enugu as a leading destination for investment, tourism, business, and sustainable economic growth.
