Your country is the poverty capital of the world, with more than 100 million living below the global poverty line.

Your country’s GDP has been shrinking, with manufacturing in terminal decline.

Your country is mired in a hyperinflation and cost of living crisis that’s the worst in at least 45 years.

Your country has no universal health coverage or free public primary and secondary school education.

Your country has no free or subsidized housing for the poor.

Your country has no food banks and food pantries for poor families.

Yet when ideological free market fanatics in countries of the West with opposite economic realities and trends are speaking esoteric grammar about how β€œsubsidy distorts the market and is unsustainable” you, Mr. Nigerian Intellectual and Economic Expert, foolishly imitate them and say Nigeria should not subsidize petrol and diesel for its people.

You, credentialed miseducated fool, continue in your folly of condemning subsidy even while the countries of the people you’re imitating are subsidizing many strategic sectors of their economy and several vulnerable demographics of their country.
