PROF. ABUBAKAR NJODI THE SSG WITH A DIFFERENCE!
I do not know how he became the SSG of Gombe State. I do not know how Gov. Inuwa Yahaya came about appointing him as the clearing house of government business. But one thing I know is that this man exemplifies and typifies hard work, humility, and loyalty to a fault.
When I was appointed as Special Adviser to Gov. Inuwa Yahaya, unknown to me, Prof. Njodi knew so much about me. He happened to be one of my followers on Facebook. It was easier for us to strike a balance in how I discharged my duties.
The attention, encouragement, and advice I got from him were unparalleled in the government. No one has given me the kind of support that Prof. gave me.
Gov. Inuwa Yahaya must realize that no human being is dead or alive in his government that has given the government and Gov. Inuwa Yahaya an unconditional and incurable loyalty like Prof.Njodi.
He tackles problems on behalf of the government and resolves them even without the help of Gov. Inuwa, sometimes with his own personal resources. Prof. Njodi is PROACTIVE, HUMBLE, PATIENT, METICULOUS, and someone with unprecedented HUMILITY.
He is a typical human shock absorber. He tolerates all sorts of rubbish from people; his level of tolerance is unprecedented. I never saw him angry. Sometimes, when I see him resolving issues, tolerating all sorts of rubbish, and even indoctrination, from some political appointees, especially some commissioners and some government appointees, I ask myself, Which kind of human being is this?
One day, someone blackmailed the government, and the SSG called me to discuss the incident. In the presence of the man involved, I stated that he was a criminal who should be turned over to the police. It was one WEEK to elections. Prof. NJODI said NO, ADVISER, we can't do that because it is election time and it will backfire on us. I said, Sir, the man knows that it was the election period that was why he blackmailed us." I said to myself that this man is a blessing to this government.
When late Gov. Abubakar Hashidu first introduced me to public service, he placed me to work under the SSG office with Daudu Abdulsalam. After that, I had also worked very briefly with LATE BAGE, and in Kano, when I was an adviser to Sen. Kwankwaso, I worked with another SSG, RABIU BICHI. Honestly, Prof. NJODI is from a different world. Imagine someone who never gets upset or angry. You cannot point out who his enemy is or where the perfect gentleman, Prof. Njodi, is.
I was privileged to be close to LATE SULAIMAN KASSIM, and LATE UBA AHMED from the Southern Gombe and now another privileged GOV. INUWA YAHAYA gave me yet another QUINTESSENTIAL GENTLEMAN PER excellence who has redefined excellence in Public Service.
I have learned a lot under him; indeed, he is an SSG WITH A DIFFERENCE. PROF. NJODI, you earned my respect and the respect of many like me. You are an inspiration and a beacon of hope and motivation. Your exemplary leadership and subordination cannot be compared to any in this government.
I PRAY HIS EXCELLENCY GIVES YOU ANOTHER WELL-DESERVED REAPPOINTMENT AS SSG. This time around, I hope you'll have more power to discharge your responsibilities.
