The NG-CARES Result Area 3 intervention is aimed at facilitating recovery and enhancing capabilities of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises. The intervention will ensure these enterprises have the required resources to fully resume economic activities during and beyond the COVID-19 crisis period. In Gombe State the key intervention for Result Area 3 are;
DLI 3.2 – OPERATIONS SUPPORT GRANT- With r
educed working and operating investing capital available, enterprises struggle to pay their staff, suppliers, lenders, and settle utility bills. If left unsupported the economic slowdown related to COVID-19 and liquidity constraints could put many MSEs at risk. This option, thus seeks to support government interventions by extending grants to cover their operational costs, pay staff salaries, utilities, private security expenses and rent. DLI 3.3 – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ENHANCEMENT/ADOPTION GRANT This option will encourage MSEs to leverage technology and to adapt to changing business needs created by COVID-19. It also seeks to upgrade MSE’s capabilities by introducing business enhancing tools such as; solar power, digital payments, e-commerce systems and generally integrate and enhance their business to compete favorably locally and internationally.
