Biometric Verification and Data Capture Begins for WAEC and NECO Candidates in Zamfara
Ahead of the 2026 WAEC and NECO examinations, ZITDA, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, has officially commenced the biometric verification and data capture of SS3 students, starting at Sambo Dan Ashafa Technical College in Gusau.
The exercise is designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and accuracy in the management of examination candidates across Zamfara State.
Following the flag-off, biometric registration for students from JSS1 to SS2 will also begin concurrently to ensure the creation of a comprehensive and reliable student database.
This initiative is in line with the directive of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, that only qualified and properly verified students should benefit from the state’s examination sponsorship programme.
Accordingly, ZITDA was tasked by His Excellency to deploy modern technological solutions and robust database management systems to support the efficient administration of examinations and strengthen the integrity of the education sector in Zamfara State.
The exercise represents another important milestone in leveraging technology to enhance education governance and improve student data management across the state.
