Lyra swallowed hard for a moment, wishing it was possible for the ground to open and swallow her up at that instant..
It wasn't even because the Williams Carson right in front of her was her enemy, rather it's his bothering phrase “.. steal you from me”..
When the hell had she been his in anyway?..
As if those words were mightier than it seemed, it reminded her of Rowan’s words which he had said when she questioned his decision of making her do his bidding – “I’m trying to protect you,”
Could he be referring to a protection against his father's possessiveness?..

Seeing that all eyes were on her in the awkward situation, she finally decided to say something..
“Your Excellency sir” she bowed her head, her heart slamming hard as it beat..
“What the hell are you telling the doctor?..” Williams questioned landing his gaze on the doctor and then, back on her again..
“What?..” Lyra questioned back, wanting to pretend for a little while.
“You heard me clearly” Williams replied, looking so serious.
“Erm.. Mr Williams.. “ the doctor interfered, earning Williams attention.
“You shouldn't yell at your son's fiancée that way, she's still so troubled by her fiancé’s health condition” He said, consequently making things more difficult for Lyra.
“What do you mean by telling me not to yell, huh? Shall I stand here and watching her spew what's untrue?!..” Williams reprimanded and the doctor had to raise a brow to portray his confusion and need to understand things better.
Lyra swallowed hard as the doctor's gaze met hers.
“Nothing is untrue here” she muttered underneath her breath but he could read her lips clearly to understand..
“Rowan Carson is married with two f**king kids, what fiancée are you talking about again! She's fake!” Williams’ voice echoed loudly.
At that point, Lyra knew she could be forced to leave with Williams or arrested for false statements if she doesn't make her words more convincing..
And so, she wasted no time in interjecting.
“And what makes you think so? Huh? What makes you think I'm fake!”
Nikita stared in total confusion.
“Did you just bark at me?” Williams bluntly demanded.
“Of course not” Lyra smiled but it only lasted for a second before her face wore back a fierce look.
“Rowan is married, hell f**king yeah, but —” she paused, studying everyone's face for a while..
“Is it a new thing to have more than one wife? Huh?..”
Her gaze settled on Williams.
“You married six women, why shouldn't your son do what he wants too?” her words sliced the air firmly and everyone instantly went quiet.
Williams blinked..
“Rowan never loved my lifestyle of marrying multiple women, he even mocked me because none of them could stay with me” he said slowly, picking his words while staring deeply into her eyes.
Lyra did a good Job in scoffing to continue making things look really real and dramatic.
“Yes, you're right. Rowan hat3s your lifestyle and that's why there's a big difference between two wives and six!” her last word came out loudly.
Williams brows raised as he struggled with his thoughts.
She was right but..
Why does it seem quite difficult to believe?.
At that point, something popped into his head and he fully remembered an event.
“Wait, I haven't forgotten that you replaced Sheila on their wedding day.. I hope that isn't what is giving you this title because you were just a replacement and nothing else” Williams smirked..
“I’m not a kid and I know what I'm talking about. I am Rowan's fiancee!” Lyra insisted.
At this point, the hospital staff and patients were literally recording them already..
They all got attracted by the noises from their arguments.
“And how do we believe that?, prove it!” lyra finally got a response..
This time, it wasn't Williams, rather, it was Nikita who had been looking for ways to really ridicule her.
Heaven knew that as Lyra turned to her, the main thing she wanted to say in shock was …

However, she wasn't ready to show any point of weakness or be surprised by a sudden betrayal..

This was just one of those unexpected moments..
She replied within seconds, not changing her expression at all..

“I’m pregnant..” she announced.
Williams froze.
This was the first time he had such level of shock.
“She’s not my type, I don't do girls like her” those words of Rowan suddenly echoed in his head and his brain sparked in anger.

“He lied to me!” he thought aloud without realising.
Nikita on the other hand was dumbfounded..
Damn! She wanted to take that as a lie but how can she do so when they even k¡Ssed in her presence?!!..
Lyra had probably wanted to end his life with the poison because she hated that she was carrying his seed!.
Her mind kept flowing with several thoughts..
Before anyone could say a word, a nurse came from one of the wards at the intensive care unit.
“Doctor, the patient in Ward 3c needs your attention” she informed.
“Excuse me” the doctor said quickly before leaving immediately.
Without thinking twice, Lyra walked out also. Remaining there would definitely attract lots of questions she might not even be able to answer…
She walked until she left the scene, but then, to avoid being followed by anyone, she covered the remaining steps to her office by running..
Her heart beat terribly fast as she closed the door, and leaned on it tiredly..
The words and lies she had just told out there rang in her head over and over again and she slowly began slipping to the ground..
Had everything not happened too fast in just one day..?..
Now those lies..
Who knows where exactly they'll be reaching..

She slowly raised her hand to her belly..
“Carl defiled me and not anyone else,” she muttered, closing her eyes.
“Rowan please just wake up and fix this mess” she thought as a tear slipped.
However, even her words began haunting her..
Would he even want to fix anything for someone who tried to murder him?..
“Damn…”
She sighed and opened her eyes but instead of the sight of the fancy chair and table she was just about to go collapse on, she saw a shocking sight instead – someone she never noticed when she came in.
“Holy f**king molly!!!”
She screamed loudly, rushing back to the door but it was already locked..
“Ghost!! Help!!!” she cried, hitting the door hard.
The manly figure got up from where he was seated and walked over to her..
“Don’t come closer Rowan! Don't!!! You're dead” She screamed.
“What makes you think a little ant like you can have me killed?” he asked with raised brows..
Her screams instantly stopped and she slowly turned to him in surprise..
“Ro.. Rowan?..” she stammered.
“How good did my human-like robot act?” he smirked..
“Oh yeah, it's programmed to impersonate me” he grinned.
And then nodded..
“Oh yeah, it must have startled you when it suddenly began collapsing. That was because it took it's allergy…” he smirked again.
“That thing has so much human features, f**k. Trillion dollar investment indeed” he laughed..
Lyra couldn't believe her ears..
Is this man mad?..
“You mean.. you …” at this point, she couldn't even speak again..
Everything that has happened suddenly began making her weak.
All her panic? Her claims that she's is fiancee and baby mama?.
Everything going out there because of him?..
…. They're all going down the drain?..
Because this idiot has replaced himself with his impersonator after they had initially met today and programmed it to act and speak like him..?!!
No!..
She fainted immediately.
Rowan caught her before she could fall and her head landed in his chest.
Then he smirked.
“Should I just do all the dirty things I've been wanting to try with someone's daughter, with you right now?” he threatened jokingly and she instantly woke up but this time, she woke up to beat him up for being so silly and madddd!!

If the sentence “As confused as…” could be added to the English language’s simile, then Nikita’s name would surely fit in..
She had pinched her self several times to me sure she wasn't dreaming but it just wasn't working. Nothing was changing..
Apparently, while she was thirty minutes away from the scene or there about, she had found a way to have the so-called Rowan’s dad come around to the scene..
But now?..
Wasn't it just boomeranging?..

The panic in the air increased as doctors and nurses kept running helter skelter, fully bent on meeting the demanding health needs of the CEO that was just rushed in..
Lyra was almost peeing on her pants while Nikita didn't even know what exactly to think.
Her mind was greatly troubled with the kiss she had just witnessed.
“I saw the look in his eyes, he f**king likes her!” she tightened her fists angrily.
Then she looked around..
“No, I can't let myself get into trouble with her because I helped her in getting a poison for the CEO. I didn't even use it on him!” she thought and then, got up suddenly.
Lyra wasn't staring at her so it was easier to leave without being noticed. She headed to the reception without hesitating.
“Hi..” the young blonde smiled at her
“CEO Rowan is dying” she announced, earning a gasp as a response.
“And the culprit is very close to him. We have to make moves without arousing suspicions but first, I need to get the number of his father and I need the number in three minutes ” she said.
The girl swallowed hard before grabbing the company's big management book.
“Good girl” Nikita scoffed.
★BACK TO PRESENT.
At this point, Nikita's feet were slowly leaving the floor and her eyes were as red as though they want to bleed..
Williams’ grasp was firmly around her neck as he strangled her hatefully.
“What did you tell me on phone! I don't know you, yet you called me to ridicule me!” he yelled at her.
“I.. I .. didn't. She's my best friend. I never knew she was having an affair with him. It was never a plan against you please” she cried struggling with his grip.
“Did you just say best friend?” he laughed.
“If you could betray your best friend then who am I to believe your words!” He yelled, tightening his grip even more.
Nikita's eyes began rolling..
“Argh!!”
“Chief Williams!”
Luckily, the doctor came around at that time and like a trash, Williams threw Nikita to the floor before turning to him.
“Rush her to the emergency unit!” The doctor said to the nurses behind him as Nikita gasped for breath.
“What is it?” Williams asked while the nurses proceeded towards Nikita as instructed.
But before they could even touch her, the doctor released the greatest of all bombshells..
“The patient that was rushed in isn't your son, it's a robot that was made to look exactly like him” he said.
Williams froze.
Nikita suddenly gained strength from nowhere and she sprang up.
“What?!”
“Yeah, it's the new robot only one scientist in the world is newly doing. It's a trillion dollar entity that has several human features, making it look like it's human. It can —”
“Shut uppppp!!!!”
