EID-EL-KABIR GREETINGS

Labour Party Oyo State extends warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to all Muslim faithful and the good people of Oyo State as we celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

This season calls us to reflect on the importance of selflessness, love for one another, and commitment to the common good of our society.

In moments like this, we are reminded that unity, empathy, and collective responsibility are more important than ever. We also call on all citizens to use this period of celebration to pray for peace, stability, and progress in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

We also urge our leaders at all levels to renew their commitment to policies and actions that will bring relief, safety, and dignity to the people they serve.

Let us remember our neighbours, the less privileged, and those who are struggling as true celebration is complete only when kindness is extended beyond our homes.

Today, May 27, is celebrated across the world as Children’s Day.
A day specially set aside to celebrate the joy, dreams, future and innocence of every child.

Sadly, this year’s Children’s Day comes with pain and heavy hearts for many families in Oyo State.

As we mark this special day, we remember the children and teachers who were abducted in Orire Local Government Area some days ago. Their continued absence remains a painful reminder of the growing insecurity threatening our peaceful existence as a people. It is heartbreaking that many residents can no longer sleep with both eyes closed or move around freely without fear. The painful reality is that anybody could become the next victim if urgent actions are not taken to address this growing insecurity in our society.

We therefore urge our security agencies not to relent in their efforts to secure the safe return of all victims. We also call on both the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government to provide all necessary support, intelligence and tools required to ensure that these children and their teachers are brought back home safely and as soon as possible.

The Holy Scriptures remind us that God controls the hearts of kings. We pray that God touches the hearts of our leaders, grants them wisdom, and guides them to do all that is necessary to bring these children and teachers home safely. We must not become silent or comfortable with this kind of tragedy, and we must continue to speak up and remember these victims until they are safely reunited with their families.

We also encourage all citizens of Oyo State to spare a moment today to remember the victims and their families in prayers. In our different capacities, let us continue to stand with them in hope and solidarity.

As Muslim faithful also observe the Ileya season during this period, we pray for peace, safety, and genuine renewed hope across every home.

Every one of us in the Oyo State Labour Party cares deeply and continues to pray for the safe and speedy return of all victims.

Happy Children’s Day to every child in Oyo State. Your future is bright, and together, we will protect it.

God bless Oyo State.
God bless Nigeria.

OYO LABOUR PARTY MOURNS ORIRE SCHOOL ABDUCTIONS, DEMANDS URGENT ACTION

Oyo State Labour Party has received with deep sadness the disturbing reports of the attacks and abductions that occurred around schools in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The attacks on Baptist Nursery and Primary School, L.A. Primary School, and Community Grammar School once again raises serious concerns about the safety of our people, especially our children, teachers, and rural communities.

We mourn the painful death of Mr. Joel Adesiyan, the Assistant Headmaster of L.A. Primary School, who reportedly lost his life during the tragic incident, as well as the innocent motorcycle rider who was also killed. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families at this difficult time. We pray that God grants them the strength to bear these painful losses.

We also stand with the parents whose children are still missing, alongside the families of the abducted teachers and school officials. No parent deserves such painful experience.

While we acknowledge the efforts currently being made by security agencies, this unfortunate incident clearly shows that more urgent and proactive steps must be taken to secure our schools and vulnerable communities, especially in Oke-Ogun and other rural areas of the state.

The Labour Party in Oyo State calls on the government and all relevant security authorities to intensify rescue efforts and ensure the safe return of every victim.

We also urge residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with useful information that may help ongoing operations.

At this difficult moment, we must stand together as a people. The Oyo State Labour Party will continue to stand and fight for the wellbeing, safety, and security of the people of Oyo State.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Labour Party – The Best Alternative

The Labour Party in Oyo State, under the chairmanship of Alhaji Atayese Tunji Sadiq, extends its sincere appreciation to all members and stakeholders across the state for your resilience, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to the growth of our great party.

Like every major opposition party, the Labour Party has had its fair share of internal legal challenges in the past. However, we are pleased to state clearly that the party has moved beyond that phase and is now focused, stable, and fully prepared for the 2026 Oyo State local government elections and the 2027 general elections.

Following the successful conclusion of the party’s 2026 National Convention in Umuahia, Abia State, which was duly observed by INEC, the Labour Party today stands firmly under the national leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman. As it stands, the Labour Party is the only major opposition party not encumbered by internal court cases which positions us as the most stable and credible opposition platform for aspiring candidates to pursue their ambitions and present their vision for a better Oyo State.

We therefore encourage all members with intentions to contest in the forthcoming elections to engage with their respective local government party chairmen and leaders to revalidate their membership. This is crucial, as only duly registered members will be eligible to vote or be voted for in the party primaries.

Once again, we appreciate your continued belief in the Labour Party.

Together, we remain committed to shaping a brighter future for Oyo State.

Forward Ever!
