🌍♻️ What a journey! The PlasticAwareNG Closing Workshop wrapped up an impactful project under BCCC-Africa, strengthening awareness, capacity, and action against plastic pollution in Nigeria. In attendance were representatives from the Oyo State Ministry of Environment, the Dean of Students (University of Ibadan), a representative of the Dean of Students (The Polytechnic, Ibadan), NESREA, FBRA, and other stakeholders and participants.

The workshop reviewed key achievements , from training 1,346 participants to strong knowledge gains, digital outreach, and community impact , reflecting on progress, results, and sustainability.

Youth Corps members of Egbeda Local Government, Ibadan, under the Education and Environmental CDS group, organized an outreach programme titled “Waste to Wealth” to advance sustainable waste management and environmental awareness. BCCC-Africa participated, building on its collaboration with the corps during a recent Plastics Awareness training workshop, emphasizing knowledge transfer and community engagement in combating plastic pollution. The event involved secondary school students and Youth Corps members, providing practical training on converting waste into valuable resources and fostering environmental responsibility. Cleaning materials were distributed, certificates issued to participating schools, and a metallic waste collector was presented to the Egbeda Local Government Secretariat to support proper collection of plastics and other waste.

BCCC-Africa wrapped up its final plastics awareness workshop for students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, providing them with the knowledge and practical skills to address plastic pollution and promote sustainability within their communities. The workshop was attended by representatives from the institution, the Oyo State Ministry of Environment, NESREA, RecycleEdge, and FBRA.
