The corona virus (COVID-19) is a re-emerging respiratory infection spreading fast through our communities. Are you aware that optimizing your immune system can protect you against viral invasions? Your body's defence system can be modulated with specific exercises. Documented evidence shows that moderate intensity exercises can adequately boost your immune response to disease.
What to do? Engage in any form of exercise or physical activity that you can perform without getting exhausted.
How to know? You must be able to make complete sentences while exercising. Yes, don't get to the point where you are gasping for breath.
Types of exercise to do? Walking, jogging, cycling, dancing, yoga, etc. Note: you can do these at home.
During self isolation or compulsory system shut down, keep active! Physical inactivity leads to deconditioning and many lifestyle diseases.
Remember to maintain physical and social distance. Eat and sleep well too.
