IBA LCDA BOOSTS OFFICIAL OPERATIONS AS ABILA PRESENTS THIRTEEN (13) ADDITIONAL VEHICLES TO POLITICAL OFFICE HOLDERS AND MANAGEMENT STAFF

‎In a significant move to strengthen effective administration and enhance service delivery at the grassroots, the Executive Chairman of Iba Local Council Development Area, Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril (ABILA), has presented official vehicles to political office holders and management staff who had previously not received official vehicles.
‎
‎The presentation took place on Thursday, 27th August 2026, at the Council Secretariat, amid excitement and appreciation from beneficiaries, staff and stakeholders of the Council.
‎
‎Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril described the vehicles as essential working tools designed to facilitate mobility, improve efficiency and enable the beneficiaries to discharge their official responsibilities more effectively.
‎
‎The Executive Chairman stressed that the gesture was not merely about providing vehicles but about equipping officials with the necessary tools to serve the people better. He therefore urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the vehicles, maintain them properly and ensure that they are deployed primarily for official assignments.
‎
‎Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril further charged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture through greater dedication, accountability, discipline and commitment to duty. He reaffirmed his administration’s determination to provide an enabling environment for political office holders and career staff to perform optimally.
‎
‎The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Executive Chairman for the initiative, describing it as a demonstration of his commitment to the welfare of officials and the effective running of the Council. They pledged to continue supporting the administration’s programmes and policies while redoubling their efforts in service to the people.

IBA LCDA MOBILISES RESIDENTS FOR AUGUST MONTHLY SANITATION

The Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has called on all residents, community leaders, traders, and stakeholders to come out in large numbers for the August Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise scheduled for Saturday, 29th August 2026, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

The exercise is part of the administration’s continued commitment to promoting a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment across Iba LCDA.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril (ABILA), urged residents to actively participate by cleaning their surroundings and supporting the Council’s efforts towards effective waste management.

He emphasised that maintaining a clean environment is a collective responsibility, stressing the administration’s commitment to making “Iba LCDA Clean” under the vision of “Abila’s Pride.”

Residents are therefore encouraged to come out and participate, as together we can make Iba LCDA clean, healthy, and better for all.

IBA LCDA INDUCTS POLITICAL OFFICE HOLDERS.
‎Iba, Lagos — August 7, 2026:

‎The Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has concluded a two-day Induction and Training Programme for Political Office Holders and Refresher Training for Management Members, aimed at equipping political office holders and senior management staff with the knowledge and skills required for effective administration and quality service delivery.
‎
‎A major highlight of the training was a session facilitated by Barrister Paul Ayoko, who spoke extensively on the importance of maintaining a cordial, professional and productive relationship between political office holders and Heads of Departments (HODs/HOUs)
‎
‎Barrister Ayoko emphasised that effective local government administration requires mutual respect, clear communication, teamwork and a proper understanding of the distinct responsibilities of political leadership and the career civil service. He noted that political office holders provide policy direction, while Heads of Departments and other professional staff play critical roles in translating policies into effective programmes and services.
‎
‎He cautioned against unnecessary interference, conflict and breakdown in communication, stressing that both political and administrative actors must work together in the overall interest of the people.
‎
‎The facilitator also addressed the relationship among the arms of government, highlighting the importance of cooperation, checks and balances, mutual respect and constitutional understanding in promoting good governance. He explained that effective governance is strengthened when the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary understand their respective roles and work within the limits of their statutory responsibilities.
‎
‎Speaking on the significance of the programme, Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril, Executive Chairman of Iba LCDA, reiterated his administration’s commitment to continuous capacity building for both political and career officers.
‎
‎The programme underscores the administration’s commitment to building a competent, united and service-driven local government capable of responding effectively to the needs and aspirations of residents.

LAGOS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMENDS HON. YISA ABIOLA JUBRIL FOR EXEMPLARY PERFORMANCE.

‎The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration, chieftancy Affairs and Rural Development has commended the Executive Chairman of IBA LCDA Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril, for his outstanding performance and remarkable strides in grassroots development.
‎
‎The commendation came during an oversight visit by the committee to Iba LCDA today. The delegation was ably led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, representing Kosofe Constituency I, as part of the Assembly’s Constitutional responsibility to assess projects and evaluate the performance of Local Government Administrations across the state.
‎
‎The Executive Chairman, alongside members of the Executive Council and the management team, presented an overview of the administration’s achievements, highlighting landmark projects and initiatives across different sectors, including Healthcare, Education, Infrastructure, Agriculture and Environmental Development. He noted that the projects were designed to improve the living standards of residents and promote inclusive socio-economic growth within the council area.

‎Following an extensive inspection of completed and ongoing projects, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Sanni Babatunde Okanlawon, applauded the administration for its impressive infrastructural development, prudent management of public resources and people-centred approach to governance. He described the achievements recorded by the council as a clear demonstration of visionary leadership and effective service delivery.

HON. JUBRIL LEADS IBA LCDA OFFICIALS IN MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE AT JIMOH STREET, OKOKO

The Executive Chairman of Iba Local Council Development Area, Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril, today led members of the Council Cabinet, Legislators, and the Management Team in the monthly environmental sanitation exercise. The exercise was held at Jimoh Street, Okoko and across other parts of the LCDA.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Jubril commended residents for the increased level of compliance. He stressed that enforcement is key to sustaining participation.

“The level of compliance is increasing, but enforcement is very important so that residents will know how important the monthly environmental sanitation is. It has come to stay. Enforcement is the key that will make everyone come out to participate in the exercise, which holds every last Saturday of the month,” he said.

The Councilor representing Ward B in Iba LCDA, Hon. Rotimi Ademola, also noted improvements in cleanliness across the area. He said residents are complying with the exercise and that the weekly Thursday community cleaning has further improved sanitation. “The commencement of the monthly environmental sanitation has improved the cleanliness of the area,” he stated.

A resident of the community, Chief Ajila, commended the Chairman for his leadership. “We appreciate the Chairman for the wonderful work he has been doing in Iba LCDA. We can see that he is out with his management team to ensure that residents perform their duties by cleaning the environment. We pray that Almighty God will continue to be with him and his entire management team,” he said.

Also present were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Samuel Ayodele Thomas; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adekanbi Taiwo; Deputy Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Zacheus Agbawi; Ward Councilors, Supervisors, Special Advisers, and the Council Management Team led by the Council Manager, Mr. Olufemi Babalola.

The council reiterated its commitment to maintaining a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment for all residents of Iba LCDA.
